Announcing Multisite Plugin for Rails 2.0
I''ve been working on this for a while, and gotten interest from several people, so I''m posting an announcement here. Building on the work of John Long''s multiple controller view paths in Rails core, I''ve created a plugin for customizing templates on a per-site basis for a single Rails app. I also want to credit Matt McCray (and Tobias Lütke in turn) for his

Problem with edge rails, controller namespaces and routes
I just upgraded to edge rails so I can use the BigDecimal support for monetary calculations. I''ve just come across the following problem.. Right now, I''ve got a content controller which is responsible for updating much of my site''s content. I''ve decided to make this a subclass of Admin, so I can organize my administrative related controllers into their own

Domain Requirements in Routes (Edge Rails)
I saw on the bottom of the following page that you can route requests to different controllers based upon which subdomain is being requested. http://wiki.rubyonrails.com/rails/pages/Routes with_options :requirements=>{:subdomain=>''first.com''} do map.connect '''', :controller => "first/catalog" map.connect ''featured'',

recent changes in routes
I''m writing a plugin that automatically creates a named route buy hijacking RouteSet''s draw method. This no longer seems to work in edge rails. Anyone know what changes in routes effected this and what the preferred way would be now to automatically include route? Here''s the code that used to work: class ActionController::Routing::RouteSet alias_method

Adding routes via a plugin...
I have a plugin that I am working on that will as part of its distribution contain a controller. I would like to be able to add a route for it in the plugin''s init.rb so that when the plugin is loaded, the route will automatically be registered without having to force the user to edit routes.rb or even make a rake task to do it for them. I saw the following code in one of the SVN

Understanding tinc edge connections and re-routing
Hi, I have successfully setup a tinc network between five hosts (in switch mode). Two of the hosts have static and known IP addresses (S1 and S2). Other hosts (H3-H5) connect one (or both) of them. The traffic flows nicely between all hosts. The initial edges (ConnectTo configuration directives) in my test network are: S1<->S2 H3 -> S1 and S2 H4 -> S1 H5 -> S2 As far as I have

The latest & greatest Routing (Rails Edge 4611)
Got a quick question regarding the latest and greatest: module ActionController module Routing SEPARATORS = %w( / ; . , ? ) Why is period (.) one of the separators? As it stands, the new routing code doesn''t recognize ''file.ext'' as the last component of a URL, which is sometimes defaulted to nil. See the generated code below. I don''t know everything

Questions about routing issue
Hello, I'm running a tinc network including dozens of nodes in switch mode. Some are running stable branch 1.0, while a small set of nodes are running 1.1 with ed25519 support. I discovered some routing issue between two nodes: (names are hidden) A (1.1): ConnectTo = B ConnectTo = C IndirectData = yes Mode = Switch B (1.0): Mode = Switch C (1.1 but only with RSA key): Mode = Switch

Edge Rails namespaced routing
Hi, I was wondering if anyone came across a similar scenario when working with namespaced routes with edge rails. Consider an application with controllers customers and products that also have other resources. map.resources :customers do |customer| customer.resources :notes customer.resources :tags end map.resources :products do |product| customer.resources :notes customer.resources

More on routing support in CVS
This morning, I have added a TEST column to /etc/shorewall/routes to allow routing to be dependent on packet/connection marks. I have placed the TEST column _before_ the INTERFACE column which means that this change is not upwardly compatible. If you already have entries in /etc/shorewall/routes, you will need to change them when you install the latest version. Sorry for the inconvenience but

Routing
Hello, I think routing could be improved in several ways, at least, there lacks some documentation describing how Tinc routes packets. In order to test Tinc, I setup the following virtual network: - tinc 1.1pre9 with ExperimentalProtocol=yes - use of network namespaces (actually python-nemu[1]) - star topology, where all nodes runs tinc except the center, which I use to filter communications,

Route globbing in Rails 3 beta 3
I was just playing around with the new routing dsl to answer someone''s question on the general rails forum. I wanted to see how Rails3 handled globbed routes. So I added this to routes.rb get ''forum/*path'' , ''forum#show'' And had the show action just display the params. with a URL of /forum/a/b/c I got {"path" => "a/b/c"}
