Dovecot + virtual users
Hi, I'm running FreeBSD, Dovecot, Postfix (virtual users), MySQL, Squirrelmail. I have installed squirrelmail-quota_usage-plugin, but I cannot make it work. It mentions "If you have an IMAP server with QUOTA Extension capability...". In dovecot.conf I have enabled "mail_plugins = quota" near protocol pop3 and protocol lda, near protocol imap I have "mail_plugins

NFS, test52, maildir, freebsd 4.x and OS X (Panther) Server
I've been working on setting up a Dovecot server with a maildir mailboxes stored over NFS. Initially, everything was working great, and then I started seeing this error as previously discussed on the list in my maillog: (mail_index_expunge): assertion failed: (!t->view->external) Timo, in another thread, suggested to remove line 247 in mail-index-transaction.c in the test52

Shared Mailboxes (symlink) and kmail: known issues?
Hi, are there any known issues with symlinked-shared-mailboxes and kmail? I use virtual users (LDAP), so there are no unix-permissions related problems here: all mailboxes are owned by the local user vmail. Each user maildir has some symlinks to shared mailboxes. This works fine if I use squirrelmail as a MUA. kmail instead seems to have some problems: if I save a mail into the

We are running Debian Sarge, Mailserver is Postfix, imap server is dovecot. Our Mailboxes are stored in the mbox format. Folder of the mbox files is /var/mail/ the users are unix system accounts. Dovecot Virtual Users & Sendmail
Not directly Dovecot, but a configuration problem. We have a working set-up with Dovecot+Procmail+Sendmail, using POP-before-SMTP. We want to be able to offer email accounts to some local schools, using SquirrelMail (keeps their costs & maintenance down). The whole arrangement is working, but we don't want to have to have 300+ School children as users of our Red Hat Enterprise server,

IMAP Memory Error
Hi, I recently upgraded dovecot on an OpenBSD server from the 0.99.x series to the 1.0-test series to eliminate a problem. That was fixed, however I am now experiencing issues with IMAP(S) connections. The main IMAPS use to the server is via Squirrelmail (many users login with it), however I typically use Thunderbird. The user mailboxes are stored in Maildir format. Basically, moving,

Architectural questions
Greetings, I have some architectural questions regarding dovecot, and though I've half answered them by looking at the source, I'm also interested in hearing whether my (our) wishes and suggestions are already being considered (or can be considered, once built) for inclusion in dovecot itself. Let me first explain why I'm doing this. I work for XS4ALL, a fairly large ISP in the

sieve_execute_bytecode failed with squirrelmail
Hello all, I'm using dovecot on CentOS 5.8 (official CentOS package) and have lot of lock and "sieve_execute_bytecode error" in my dovecot.log. $ cat /etc/redhat-release CentOS release 5.8 (Final) $ dovecot --version 1.0.13 The sieve scripts are generated by squirrelmail mail and are mostly mail filters and vacations notices. $ yum info squirrelmail.noarch Installed Packages

Correct naming scheme for dovecot / squirrelmail subfolders?
Hello, I am running dovecot 1.0-0_34.rc15 and squirrelmail 1.4.8-2 on a Centos 4 server. Right now all messages are delivered to maildir /var/mail/vhosts/virtual_mail_root/, which has its cur, tmp, new subdirectories. I need to (re) configure postfix, dovecot and squirrelmail so that email is filtered and dovecot serves different boxes to squirrelmail, that is when I log in in squirrelmail I

Comments on planned migration to Dovecot
Our office of about 100 users is presently running its mail through an Exchange 5.5 Server. The Exchange server is protected by Linux server pass-through server running Exim4. We intend to move all of our mail and directory services to open source software, probably Exim4, Dovecot and OpenLDAP. We have a mixture of mail clients. These include Mac OS9 Entourage (about 30%), OSX Entourage (20%)

Hi! I am switching a mail server setup to a new machine which has RHL Fedore Core 2 installed, which uses Dovecot. Dovecot - Issue with Maildir++ quotas
Hi, I've been bitten by an issue running Squirrelmail on top of Dovecot using Maildir++ quotas. Having configured these quotas in Dovecot, I notice that Dovecot appears not to exclude the 'Trash' folder from its quota calculation (which it should do, according to the Maildir++ spec). Unfortunately this breaks Squirrelmail if I try to delete a message from a close-to-quota

Locking foolishness - Better info
I realized that my last message about locking gave bad information -- or rather, very little information. Here's my setup: - Home directories and user login information are located on an Xserve running Mac OS X 10.2.6. Home directories are split between 2 different directories -- /Users and /Students. Home dirs are exported via NFS to the mail server. User login info is shared via LDAP

Calling multiple phones at ones
What you want is called SIP call forking, and unfortunately, last time I checked (before Asterisk 12 and the advent of PJSIP), Asterisk's SIP channel driver does not support it, and I would be shocked if Asterisk 12+ changes this situation. You can even see that people have written and submitted patches for this in the past, but they have been rejected:

dovecot v 1.28 and virtual folders
I haven't been able to make this work. I've experimented with different settings in my dovecot.conf for hours. I have a simple single user ubuntu setup, nothing fancy and would just like to have a virtual "unread" folder of my main INBOX, for use with Squirrelmail So, with just this, all good... subfolders look like .INBOX.duplicates for example in the file system
