User ID's with Special Characters??
Hello List: I am new to this list and this is my first posting. Presently, I am using Red Hat 9.0 and soon planning to switch over to CentOS. I have one question. In RH user names can not contain special characters. For example my UID is 'kbajwa' and my email address is kbajwa at tibonline.net. Since '@' in the email address is a special character, I can not use my email as my

maildir location
Hello, I am trying to use dovecot (v. 2.0.11) and postfix (v. 2.7.3) together. The email server is an ldap client and user's home directories on NFS server are mounted using autofs. As I understand, Maildir performance is better than mbox type, so I'd like to use Maildir instead of mbox. However, when I checked conf.d/10-mail.conf file, there is mail_location = maildir:~/.maildir

How to pull /var/mail mbox leftovers to Maildirs?
I just got my preferred postfix+dovecot(-1.1.1) configuration working on Ubuntu 8.04 server. Users and Maildirs migrated, etc. I wasn't seeing inbound mail (in the email client) until I set: sudo postconf -e 'home_mailbox = Maildir/' Which I hadn't needed in the previous server's main.cf I have a few hours worth of inbound mostly-spam in /var/mail/(username) during the time

First I configured postfix to use procmail, its default LDA and dovecot for pop3 and imap. I didn't changed main.cf a lot, just myhostname and a few other properties. I didn't set home_mailbox. Maildir detection..
It would seem that dovecot cannot detect my maildir. The system DO NOT use "~/Maildir". It is arbitrary across a few systems, actualy, and am curious if there is a way to "force" in the config file where the maildir explicitly resides, much like Postfix's "home_mailbox" configuration parameter. On a side note, I compiled dovecot 0.99.4 on a NetBSD

[PATCH 0/6] mdev based hardware virtio offloading support
Hi all: There are hardware that can do virtio datapath offloading while having its own control path. This path tries to implement a mdev based unified API to support using kernel virtio driver to drive those devices. This is done by introducing a new mdev transport for virtio (virtio_mdev) and register itself as a new kind of mdev driver. Then it provides a unified way for kernel virtio driver to

Need Help to solve an Error in R
Hi Keep your answers to R help (others can help you too) From the warning message it seems to me possible that function ReadExi needs to write something to the working directory. As I said I am not an expert in this package, but commands from help R> make.gal.env(galname='galenv', gal.path='Exiqon') R> ebatch <- ReadExi(galname='galenv',

Sieve script does not run in dovecot 2.0 on squeeze
Hi, I want to use Sieve filtering with my Dovecot 2.0.20 installation on Debian squeeze. ManageSieve works fine so far, I can edit and activate/deactive scripts (using Thunderbird + Plugin) and they show up in the filesystem where I expect them to be, see below. # ls -la /home/k2009999/ total 16 drwxr-xr-x 4 k2009999 mail 4096 Apr 30 10:46 . drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 4096
