Pagination with acts_as_ferret
Hey there,
Previous to finding ferret I had a test query setup to do pagination
like:
@listing_pages, @listings =
paginate(:listing, :per_page => 10,
:conditions => [" name LIKE ? ", "%" + search_criteria +
"%"],
:order_by => "name ASC")
Can I do similar pagination with @results array returned from a ferret

Pagination has many through problems

like to do, and this morning i thought i''d worked it out, but
no....here''s what i have:

Pagination - why is it this hard?
Hi everyone,
I''m at the end of my rope on this. I can''t get pagination to work
with anything but a standard find on a model. If I try to do a search
and customize the pagination, I get lots of different variations.
My thought was to have the list action do what it does, but to pass it
a list of search conditions from the search action. So, if search
determines that we need

Another DRY question
I have some code working that lists only items from a particular user.
The code in my list action finds the user and then conditionally lists
only his/her items:
def list
user = User.find(session[:user])
user_id = user.id
@product_pages, @products = paginate :products, :per_page => 10,
:conditions =>[''user_id = ?'',
user.id]

another simple question: per_page in pagination
Hi,
Why can''t I use a variable to specify the :per_page attribute when using
the most basic form of pagination? (if I use a hardcode number, it
runs) What did I do? Thx.
My code:
def list_orders
page_size = 20
...
order_pages, @orders = paginate(:orders, :per_page => page_size)
end
My Errors:

Strategy for persisting row filter variables in pagination?
I have my list view filtering rows shown within the table <tr> tags like
most of the introductory tutorials do. As I''m adding a few dozen entries
I''m noticing the standard scaffolding pagination doesn''t pick up the
number of rows from the filter since it is not being passed the number
of rows returned within the scope of the filter statement.

MVC and Pagination
Just wondering how to best integrate with pagination and still stick to
MVC...
Say I have a Post model that has a published attribute. I want to show
all the recent published posts on a page.
My first instinct is to create a method in the Post model called recent
that does the find with proper conditions and order, but the problem I
have is how do I use that with pagination (which definitely

I am trying to use pagination with the order option. I am following
examples I''ve seen all over the web, but I am getting an error. My code
seems simple:

I''m using will_paginate in a Post class method;

I can happily use the method on my posts controller index action;

Problem with Pagination
Hi Guys,
I am trying to paginate the results from a search. When I use actual
constants in the search conditions, it works fine:
def query
@k2_result_pages, @k2_results = paginate (:k2_results,
:conditions => [''e_date >= ? AND
e_date <= ?'', ''2006-07-12'', ''2006-08-12''],

calculate method is gone once I use ''find''?
Could someone please explain why this works:
current_user.accounts.sum(:balance)
But not this:
current_user.accounts.find_all_by_active(true).sum(:balance)
For the latter Rails tells me sum is an undefined method. It seems like
I lose the ActiveRecord methods when I call ''find''?
This (simpler) does not work either:
current_user.accounts.find_all.sum(:balance)
Thanks!
