Problems getting mongrel service working
Hello list! I have mongrel service 0.1.0 working on my current production machine. Upgrading to a new server and also moving to mongrel service 0.3.1 has not worked yet. I am hoping someone will have an idea as to why. I have mongrel installed properly (I think): C:\rails\igacc>gem list --local *** LOCAL GEMS *** ... mongrel (1.0.1) A small fast HTTP library and server that runs

Tutorials
Getting a bit frustrated with the documentation of RoR I ask you if you can recommend a good tutorial that I''ve missed :-) The current problem that I''m stuck with is forms and list and how to display or not to display columns. -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed

service::start borken
Hello Mongrel Users! This is my first post! Is there an expected release date for the fixed version of mongrel_service that will resolve the missing service::start command? I would love to use the much improved features of the new mongrel_service, but I haven''t been able to yet. I haven''t figured out how to follow Zed''s advice on a previous thread to just use the

Re: Best way to set up application settings?
http://wiki.rubyonrails.org/rails/pages/SettingsPlugin Very easy to use. Can be used to setup user specific settings, as well as applicatoin-wide settings. Since the settings are in the db you can change setting without restarting the app, as you would have to if they were in environment.rb. -- (********************************************************** * Peter H. Rails & IIS
There are several sites I''ve found on the web detailing how to setup IIS with Rails. Unfortunately they all seem to be woefully out of date. I believe they may all even be pre Rails 1.0. Can single sign on via Active Directory Services be accomplished through mod_NTLM for Apache, so users won''t have ot log into the intranet site after already having logged into their machine?

Authenticating before tests
Hi all, I''m using Goldberg, an engine that provides roles based access control for my app. I need to login before I can do controller tests, but I can''t find any examples of people doing this. Could someone point me in the right direction? I thought the simplest way would be to either call the login action from my other tests before(:all), but I can''t seem to

Flash (video) tutorials
Hi Everyone I just started looking at Ruby on Rails over the last few days. I find that Flash (video) tutorials help me rap my head around new concepts. If anyone knows of any (I found a couple looking for more) it would be very helpful to me. Thanks Clark http://sgetty.ath.cx -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Is there any particular distro that seems to be most used among RoR developers on Linux? Any that might provide better support somehow for development of RoR apps? -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

"table(droplevels(aq)$Month)" in manual page of droplevels
The last line of the example in droplevels' manual page seems to be incorrect to me. I think it should read: "table(droplevels(aq$Month))". Amazingly (I don't understand) both variants seem to produce the same result (R 3.3.3): --- > aq <- transform(airquality, Month = factor(Month, labels = month.abb[5:9])) > aq <- subset(aq, Month != "Jul") >

CMS centos3
Anyone using or recomend a content management system that will install without out a lot of mucky muck on a Centos3 system? I looked at Zope but it needs a newer Python, Midgaard looks likes it's geared towards RHEL4. OpenCMS looks like it runs on java so that might work. I have yet to look at Rubyrails and Django.

TI DSP support
I did find it using my browser search. I am not sure where the "Git" is. It looks like many of the macros that use the TI intrinsics are commented-out. #if 0 +#include "dsplib.h" + +#undef MAX16 +#define MAX16(a,b) _max(a,b) ... Once my development has commenced (still in the study phase). I will be trying it. dave -----Original Message----- From: Jean-Marc Valin

Encrypting Ogg
Howdy. I have a application I'm developing where I need to encrypt the data inside an OGG stream. I will be using a regular block cypher (AES, or others... configurable); and I would like to encrypt the pages in an OGG stream. I'm thinking that if I sit my decrypter in between the reading application and the encrypted file, you should be able to use all the normal seeking
