Hello,
I'm testing out dovecot with postfix. I'm running postfix 2.5.2 with
dovecot version 1.1.1 with dovecot sieve plugin version 1.1.5.
I have everything compiled and working except for the sieve plugin. I'm
now trying to test out the sieve plugin and having no luck in getting a
simple auto vacation reply to work. Here is my

Auto Vacation replies again

Sorry to bring this up again.
I have now configured my test server to pass all email messages off to
our central campus email filter gateway. This gateway scans all email
traffic for viruses/spam before being delivered to any local mail servers.
Once I did this my auto vacation replies are getting canned due to the
fact the from header line is empty

Dovecot auto vacation with sieve doesn't work
Guys, I'm running out of hair to pull out ;).
Can anyone out there say that this does work?? To me this is looking
like a bug and I'm not sure whether it's the sieve plugin or the dovecot
deliver program. I have also had no luck the the "reject" sending any
reply back to the sender.
My setup:
OS: Solaris 10 sparc platform
postfix: 2.5.2
dovecot: 1.1.2
sieve plugin: 1.1.5

Have a strange problem with just POP3 users. Their email clients will

There has been an error transferring your mail. I said PASS <shhhh!
Don't tell anyone.> and then the POP server

Just move our mail servers over to a new mail server running postfix
2.11.1 and dovecot 2.2.13 and getting the subject line errors in my
/var/adm/files. People are complaining of loosing their connections to
the mail server.
I've been able to google this error but haven't found fix for this yet.
NOt sure where to put the drop-priv option in the config files either.

lock files causing time outs with Thunderbird
I have dovecot 1.1.16 running on Solaris 10. We are seeing problem with
lock files taking forever to be removed after opening a email folder
like Trash with several thousand messages in them. We use mbox format.
All users inbox's are local to the mail server, and all other users mail
folders are stored on a separate file server mounted via NFS. I see no
problems with the NFS mounts.

Authentication fails
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Been running dovecot 1.1.2 for about a month now. I Have strange issue
that I have not been able to trouble shoot. What I'm seeing is that
dovecot runs along just fine for about 4 days, and then it will just
stop authenticating everyone (IMAP and POP). No errors in the logs
other than all authentication attempts comes out as password mismatch.

beta1: how to use quota plugin???
Hi,
After searching gmane.mail.imap.dovecot on the topic, and
wiki.dovecot.org, I'm still clueless on how to use RFC 2087
quotas in dovecot with the quota plugin. How come no wiki
doc?
My setup: Solaris 9, mbox format. Both the filesystem for
INBOXes (/var/mail) and the user's home directories have
filesystem-based quotas imposed. For example:
% quota -v joeblow

3.0.2p1: all sshd processes owned by root
Hi,
I installed 3.0.2p1 on our Solaris 8 systems this week (new to ssh),
and when I look at the process list for sshd, I see:
root 14547 1 0 10:35:29 ? 0:00 /opt/openssh/sbin/sshd
root 14548 14547 0 10:35:36 ? 0:01 /opt/openssh/sbin/sshd
Process 14547 is the deamon listening on port 22, but process 14548 is
my connection from elsewhere. I consider it a design
