Unable to see virtual users
I'm still having trouble getting users accepted by postfix + dovecot. I have a few (<10) virtual users configured in a passwd-style file in /etc/dovecot/users. I can verify that dovecot sees those users and can authenticate them using 'doveadm' as well as IMAP. I also have one system user configured via PAM. I can verify that dovecot sees this user and can authenticate using

dsync summary?
Is there a way for dsync to report a summary of what it did? For example, when finished, it could report how many messages in how many folders were added (or deleted for a two-way sync) or had flags modified, and if any messages/folders were skipped due to errors or whatever. This could provide a sanity check that a sync looks like it worked. -- Randall Gellens Opinions are personal;

dsync imapc authentication mechanisms
I'm trying to use dsync to mirror mail onto a remote IMAP server. The remote server is generating an error that authentication via plain text is not permitted. Does dsync imapc support any non-clear-text authentication mechanisms? The remote server supports: AUTH=CRAM-MD5 AUTH=DIGEST-MD5 AUTH=NTLM -- Randall Gellens Opinions are personal; facts are suspect; I speak for myself

Unable to see virtual users
I have a new Dovecot v2.2.9 installation and am having trouble getting virtual users recognized. Also, the example configuration listed on the Wiki generates config errors. Note that I haven't tried running dovecot yet, I wanted to verify that the config looked good first. First, my configuration. I'm trying to use /etc/dovecot/users as my combined userdb and passdb file, with all

Replication problem I have. And how I think I can get around problem.
I have two servers in two different locations. Neither what you would call 100 percent safe from being turned off. Most staff use web based email. This backs onto imap server. I do know I will have to deal with contact lists and other items. in that client. Worst part is the link between them may get broken so both servers may be receiving email and back active at the same time. I can see 1

Should Join Discussion - Fwd: [whatwg] Give guidance about RFC 4281 codecs parameter
Hello, You guys might want to join this discussion. (And maybe some others too.) On the WhatWG mailing list, there's been a fury of e-mails about adding a <video> element to HTML5. They're talking about codecs and containers now. It might be helpful to have your representatives there. And help shape things. See ya ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Dave Singer

Unable to see virtual users
I'm still very confused, but I have finally gotten it to recognize all users. What changed from my previous message is that I deleted the static userdb, and added the system user to the /etc/dovecot/users file (but not to the passdb /etc/dovecot/passwd). Oddly, I had to set uid:gid and homedir for each entry in /etc/dovecot/users even though I have these set to default values

sorting question
Hi, If I understand the thread sorting algorithm correctly (from draft-ietf-imapext-sort-17.txt and the code), it will sort like this (where I use numbers instead of dates with higher numbers being newer mails) 4 10 3 11 2 12 1 13 etc into all the lower levels. Thunderbird will actually sort this like this: 1 13 2 12 3 11 4 10 where threads are sorted by the newest child in

Sorting by Sender Name
Dear Timo, Posted this originally to the squirrelmail list but they said that sorting is done server side so concluded I needed to talk to you: ============= I feel there is an error in the logic of the sort by From column. If you sort by this column, the messages are re-ordered in alphabetical order using the *email address* as the sorted word. However most people these days have their

Can't get shared public folders working
I'm trying to use a shared public namespace. Clients say it exists, but sieve scripts can't write to it. The configuration in /etc/dovecot/conf.d/10-mail.conf: # Shared namespace for Foo stuff namespace { type = public separator = '/' prefix = "#Foo/" location =
