expire-tool skipping mailbox
Hello, I have dovecot set up with expire-tool to nuke Junk messages greater than 30 days old. On a server with many user accounts, it seems to work on most of them. However, on my user account, expire-tool skips my Junk folder entirely, despite it containing messages from January of this year. Here is the expire-tool --test output: Info: alex at scienceforums.net/Junk: timestamp 1284027481 (Thu

Expire plugin - where to start?
I'm running Dovecot 1.1.3 on FreeBSD 7.0 with procmail 3.22 sorting the output of Spamassassin. Just for me and a few friends. I didn't like the ageing 'standard' IMAP implementation so I thought I'd give Dovecot a try and it's really impressive. However, I'm a complete newbie to its inner workings. Spamassassin is able to find plenty to chew on so the "Probable

Expire plugin: wrong mailbox separators in database?
Hi all, I'm experimenting with the expire plugin and seem have run into a small problem. I am using Dovecot 1.2.4 on a test server. The config is taken mostly verbatim from the expire plugin wiki page [1], using MySQL as a database. See below for detailed output. Namespace "private" has "/" configured as mailbox separator: namespace private { separator = /

Expire Plugin
I was struggling for a while to get the expire plugin to expunge mail. I was using (and still would like to use) PAM as passdb and passwd as userdb but with this I could not get the expire-tool to delete any mails. For debugging purpose I switch to passwd-file as userdb/passdb and enabled mail_debug=yes. 1. passwd-file contains home directory and userdb_mail (->working!)

expire-tool stops on first box with nothing to expire in it
Hi, I'm running dovecot 1.2.11 on Centos and have the expire plugin enabled. I've had this in place for some time but until now never actually ran the expire-tool. I'm now trying to put this to use. The expire plugin as such is working fine and also the tool is working fine - up to a point. When I run it with --test it goes through a bunch of boxes and lists the messages it

Expire plugin / expire-tool redesign for doveadm
Expire plugin / expire-tool seems annoyingly inflexible currently, so I was thinking about a more generic redesign: The expire plugin keeps track of the oldest message in configured mailboxes. Its only configuration is the list of tracked mailboxes. There's no configuration like what the expire timeouts are or anything. There will be a new doveadm command: doveadm expunge [-u user | -A]

expire tool - individual user/folder?
Hello, is the expire plugin usable to delete mails with different settings for each individual user? If i view sample config at http://wiki.dovecot.org/Plugins/Expire it looks like expire-data are related to foldernames. Is it possible to let each user "activate" the expire-plugin for different folders with different settings? Thanks, Andre

Dovecot 2 and expire
expire_dict = proxy::expire I found this expire_dict somewhere, might have been the 1.x wiki, but on the expire plugin page there is no mention of it. I am trying to troubleshoot why my mysql table has no entries. Do I need this line? Is that correct for using mysql? In dict {} I have expire = mysql:/etc/dovecot/conf.d/dovecot-dict-expire.conf.ext and in plugin {} i have expire_dict =

Browsing and Mapped Drives over a VPN
Hello All: I have a situation where I have a Samba box (RH 7.3 w/samba 2.2.4) that I set up for a client. Another consultant came along and installed a VPN using SonicWalls between the main site and a remote site. So now they want the remote users to save files on my Samba box. No problem except that the remote users can't see my local workgroup or any of the local machines. Here's

mail_uid and mail_gid are not set in environment (for expire-tool and so)
Hello, I've just subscribed to the list, as a recent user of Dovecot (1.2.4 by now). I eventually missed a point, so I tried to find other doc or comments about my issue, but failed to. If the following has already been discussed, please simply reply with a URL to the corresponding thread or doc ;-) Now that I have covered my ass, here is the problem I meet. In dovecot.conf, I have the
