RC8 failing...
I just tried upgrading from RC7 to RC8 this morning, and I'm seeing an issue I've never seen before. On my first POP3 login, all is fine, but any subsequent logins seem to fail with the message: dovecot: Oct 10 11:04:31 Error: Maximum number of mail processes exceeded In the dovecot log file. I'm also oddly seeing the message: Oct 10 11:01:05 popbkup pop3-login: [ID 799321

Dovecot top stats
Hi, I have being try to track down top email users to sometime. When I do a network traffic check I can see there is about 15 times more email traffic pulled from mail server than sent. The problem I am trying to track down is which users are the culprit. I have enabled doevcot stats and I can do a doveadm stats dump user but I get a 0 for disk_input, disk_output, read_bytes and write_bytes. I

v1.1.rc8 released
http://dovecot.org/releases/1.1/rc/dovecot-1.1.rc8.tar.gz http://dovecot.org/releases/1.1/rc/dovecot-1.1.rc8.tar.gz.sig I then decided to add the deliver -c feature to this release. Seems to work in my tests, but who knows if it breaks something.. Although most of the code is called only if -c parameter is given. Anyway we really should have a comprehensive test suite written some day (yes, help

Time moved backwards by 4398 seconds
Dovecot (v1.1.rc8) died tonight, with an error about time moving backwards by 4398 seconds. I can see from logs that this has happend a few times before with the imap processes, without me noticing. I sure noticed the master process missing, though :-). I was puzzled that it was always 4398 seconds, in particular because this server runs an NTP daemon. A little searching for this problem shows

dotlock errors without using dotlock
I have a few clients that have more than one user in the same mailbox. I have my setup using fctrl for mailbox and index locking. My mail is stored on a network file system (gluster) and my indexes are stored on the local drive. I have a few issues: - My users mailboxes have issues where messages will be mixed up (you go to open a message and it gets a different message) - messages will

Problems with Outlook clients after a migration
Hi, I'm doing the final tests before I migrate my 10000 users from RHEL 4 + dovecot 1.1.20 to RHEL5 + dovecot 1.2.11, and I'm having some serious problems with outlook 2007 clients disconnecting very often. In dovecot's log I see lot of connects and disconnects from these clients (as oposed to my kmail, that just connects once when I come in and disconnects when I shut it off).

Stale NFS file handle and duplicated messages
We recently moved all our users from the Washington IMAP server to Dovecot. There has been a substantial improvement in performance, but some users are reporting duplicate messages, and we see 'Stale NFS file handle' errors in the syslog. Does anyone know what would cause this ? The errors relate to the index file, eg. Nov 29 00:49:47 imap-e.ucl.ac.uk dovecot: [ID 107833 mail.error]

expire_tool trouble + howto part sasl from 1.1.7 -> 2.0.1?
Hello! Let me smuggle 2 questions in 1 email: 1) I upgraded from 1.1.7 to 2.0.1, but couldn't get it to work, because the 'dovecot + postfix sasl howto' doesn't seem to be updated and the old sasl settings are incompatible with new version. How do I set up sasl with dovecot2 ? Is there any updated howto available? 2) In dovecot 1.1.7: my expire_plugin seems to work fine, new

dovecot-1.2-managesieve "make install" ignores Dovecot's prefix
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello, I'm trying to compile dovecot-1.2-managesieve from hg repo with Dovecot v1.2 and I found that managesieve uses another "install" target/prefix than I've configured in Dovecot. Is this intentional? Because you must specify the compiled Dovecot sources, is managesieve just "loosly" connected to Dovecot so it

namespace prefix issue with avelsieve
Hi! I am currently testing a setup with dovecot's lda, the cmusieve plugin, pysieved and the avelsieve plugin for squirrelmail. The issue I am stumbling upon is that avelsieve is generating folder names including the namespace prefix when creating "fileinto" rules. E.g.: A rule: If the header "Precedence" contains "bulk", then file it into the folder
