Unable to determine IP address from host name "www.hdt-project.org"
Getting this today? Not sure what issue is?
I paid for the renewal back in 08/04/2016 and and in 2015, so the domain
should be current? But the whois seems to show it is expired? Went to the
gandi site, and it doesn't show a renewal option or anything?

hdt-project.org no IP?
The date format may have been an issue, and I had noticed the whois
changed the expiration date later to 2018, but dig with my local and with
google dns still comes back with no ip. If you addess the gandi dns servers
you do get the ip address?? So not sure why it has updated the other dns
servers?
I have a dyndns.org account, and had mapped an address to the IP and it

good small registrar?
Greetings,
What are some registrars that members of this list have had good experience
with? I was stepping through the godaddy checkout process, and being
opted-in to a dozen different upsell features just left a bad impression.
But I have no clue who else to go with.

iPhone no longer authenticating
I've switched a user to being an active directory user. That user's email client authorizes
just fine with dovecot using GSSAPI. However, now his iPhone won't authorize. In the dovecot
log file I get:

iphone connection problem
Hi, I recently changed from uw imap to dovecot on the sound recommendation of a friend and have mostly succeeded in getting all of my clients up and running, but am really stuck with the iPhone which is failing to make connections. I run certificates on all of my clients and thunderbird happily connects both locally and remotely. I installed the certificate on the iPhone after great pain (pk12

TIP for broken ARIN whois
This works for me on Centos 5.6. It may assist newcomers to the Linux
world of Centos.
whois 51.51.51.51
produces a normal and conventional display of data.
However since ARIN, the North American registrar of IP addresses,
"modernised" its WHOIS processing, a query to
whois 64.64.64.64
will produce a one line summary of possible matches, which always
includes ARIN, but omits the

Your RoR 1.1 Adoption Prediction?
What is the likelyhood that major inexpensive webhosts like godaddy,
bluehost, etc. will upgrade to RoR 1.1? Is this going to be like PHP 5
where it has to percolate for a year or more before it becomes widly
available? Your thoughts?
Along the same lines... is it possible to adopt some of the new improved
Ajax / javascript capabilities without actually upgrading the ruby
installation?

Major problems with TDM400 and specific telephones: suggestions?
Hello!
Attached to the bottom of this e-mail is an edited version of an e-mail I
originally wrote to Digium tech support regarding Ouch and Power alarm
errors I have been receiving on my TDM400. It contains a great deal of
detail regarding my setup. In the end, I have found that one of the 5
phones I'm trying to make work with Asterisk is contributing to the
generation of these errors.

Netfilter fails to filter traffic from a netblock?
Hi Everyone,
We rent a CentOS 7 VM from GoDaddy. We received a warning about
excessive cpu usage, and a threat to cancel our service. We tracked it
down to Apache and someone hammering our web server.
The offending host is 59.64.129.175. To err on the side of caution we
attempted to block the entire netblock. According to whois data,
that's 59.64.128.0-59.64.159.255.

fax - sound/tone - dealing with SPAM
I receive several calls from this scamer: Senior SafeAlert
It is an automated call and they keep rotating their caller ID so it is harder to block them.
Does asterisk have a "fax" sound tone? If I block their number and play "fax" tone/sound maybe they will remove me from their calling list.
I've tried to call them but nothing helps.
Any better ideas? They keep calling

DNSSEC Questions
Last weekend I had my DNSSEC keys expire. I discovered that they had
expired the hard way... namely randomly websites could not be found and
email did not get delivered. It seems that the keys were only valid for
what I estimate was about 30 days. It is a real PITA to have update the
keys, restart named and then update Godaddy with new digests.
The first part of the problem is fairly

OT: Ecommerce hosting
Would appreciate some suggestions for ecommerce hosting. Been using, cough,
cough, godaddy, for about 5 or 6 yrs but in the last year or so, they really
suck. Did the hosting myself for a while prior to going with godaddy but I
don't have time to babysit. Seems godaddy would rather spend millions
advertising during the Super Bowl than put that money to good use.
TIA!!

does having a centos wiki acct grant edit access?
i just registered for a centos wiki account, and was wondering if
this gives me edit capability. i'm prepping for the first of a number
of RHEL/centos basic admin courses and currently working my way thru
the wiki, collecting neat tricks and ideas and, occasionally, i'll
stumble over typoes -- some minor, some not so much.
for instance, here:
