Some questions of REST actions
I''ve set up my application to use edge rails in order to get REST
functionality.
I''ve a controller called team (team_controller.rb) with some actions
(index, list,
show, create, new....). Moreover in routes.rb I''ve added
map.resources :team
so I guess I could call
localhost:3000/xxxx/team/1
or
localhost:3000/xxxx/team/1;edit
Well, when I do the first call, server

Problem connecting to MySQL
Hello, when I invoke an action of my rails web app I recieve this message:
No such file or directory - /tmp/mysql.sock
In my MySQL config file I have this line:
socket=/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock
Why Rails doesn''t pick up this value instead of his default value?
How could I change the configuration of Rails in order to change that value?

SSOAP: arguments passed as
Hi,
I have a SOAP service, provided by BioMoby
which I'd like to call via SSOAP.
My service breaks during genSOAPClientInterface()
genSOAPClientInterface(def=service, verbose = TRUE)
Operation MassBank_Simple_2
Error: Cannot resolve SOAP type in empty context
Problem seems to be that there are no <types> defined in the WSDL,

ActionWebServices
Is there a problem with Direct Web Services on Windoze?
A routing error occurs with simple controller/api configs as
described in the AWDwR text. route.rb has a wsdl route, but
I would like to scaffold it to render either wsdl or ws
functions from localhost:3000/ctrlr/invoke or localhost:3000/ctrlr/wsdl.

Migrations + foreign keys
Hi all,
In the AWDR author use the execute method to declare foreign keys:
execute "alter table.... add constraint.... foreign key...."
Is there a ruby sintax to declare a foreign key in a migration class?

SSOAP failing
Dear list,
I am trying to use the SSOAP package to access a very simple SOAP
service, included as a demonstrator in the axis2 Apache package:
"Version" (takes no input parameters and should return a string with the
version number). The web service itself seems to be working as I could
access it using an other client (eclipse Web Server tester).
You will find the service wsdl here:

Newbie: What is WSDL?
# Allow downloading Web Service WSDL as a file with an extension
# instead of a file named ''wsdl''
map.connect '':controller/service.wsdl'', :action => ''wsdl''
That''s in the routes file, but what''s it for/mean?
Thanks!

ActionWebService and namespaces
Hi all,
I''ve tried to search the mailing list, web, etc. and haven''t found
anything that seems to answer my question.
I have a WSDL for a web service written in Java, and I''m trying to
consume it in ruby using ActionWebService. I''ve created my API and some
struct classes. I''ve found the :namespace option to
ActionWebService::Client::Soap.new, but

Libs directory
Hello,
I had an application on Rails 1.2 or 1.1 (don''t remember). Now I have
updated it to 2.1.
I had a migrations_helper.rb in the Libs directory which defined
foreign_key and drop_foreign_key methods. But now migrate task doesn''t
find them. Have I to include this directory somewhere with Rails 2.1?
Doesn''t it work as always?
Could I use another thing to declare

SSOAP fails with .types[[1]] : subscript out of bounds
Hi,
I am trying to create a BioMoby client in R using SSOAP.
BioMoby is a normal SOAP web service, with request
and response messages wrapped in BioMoby XML dialect.
Since the particular WSDL I am having problems with
is autogenerated and used similarly by *many* services,
it would be quite important to a) fix SSOAP or
b) fix the WSDL generator.
I am a bit lost how to continue debugging

help with SSOAP (can't find working examples)
First of all, let me confess that I am a newbie to R and don't know
much about the language or the environment. We have a need for
plugging in R in our production runtime and need the ability to pull
data out of our existing services. I am trying to see if I can take
advantage of SSOAP such that we can expose the data via webservices
and use SSOAP to call into them. Our runtime is mostly

Web service SOAP URLs started failing with 1.1.4 or using 1.1.2 security patch
Railers,
I''m trying to figure out why invocations to my Web service URLs work
with Rails 1.1.2 but fail both with Rails 1.1.4 (and 1.1.5) and when I
apply the new 1.1.2 security patch to Rails 1.1.2.
It looks like they are failing with SOAP clients but succeeding with
XML-RPC clients.
The URL that used to work is of the form
http://localhost:3000/my_controller/ServiceName/api. When I

ActionWebService and WSDL
The suggested approach for developing a web service using
ActionWebService appears to be start by defining the API you want and
then you can generate WSDL. I want to start from WSDL. I''ve tried
wsdl2ruby but the Ruby code it generates does not appear to play well
with Rails. Is there a way I can get what I want? I''m new at this so if
the answer is a forehead slapper,

SSOAP & chemspider
Dear all,
I've been trying on and off for the past few months to get SSOAP to work with chemspider. First I tried the WSDL file:
