Imap process crashes when search in virtual mailbox
Hi, When searching in a virtual mailbox imap process crashes if the virtual mailbox has a lot of physical mailboxes behind (more than 80 - 100 mailboxes). panic in mail-index-view.c
With just one user, on a virtual hosting system with several hundred users spread across a couple of dozen domains, there is the following error, repeated a couple of times a second without variation, when the user tries to connect with Thunderbird to read his mail: dovecot: Panic: IMAP(*******@****.co.uk): file mail-index-view.c: line 265 (view_lookup_seq_range): assertion failed: (first_uid

2.2.12: Panic: file mail-index.c: line 380 (mail_index_keywords_unref): assertion failed: (keywords->refcount > 0)
I upgraded 2.1 -> 2.2 something like a week ago because I needed INDEXPVT. Not sure if this crash started immediately or not, noticed it today looking at journalctl. Backtrace http://bpaste.net/raw/181944/ and pasted below. This seems to crash on every IMAP connection made, so any ideas for a possible client-level workaround are quite welcome until dovecot code improves here. root at

Apologies if this is an <=rc19 thing, but am waiting for rc24 to come into Debian unstable/testing before upgrading. Dovecot 1.2.4 - assertion crash in view_lookup_seq_range
Hi all, We have a number of machines running Dovecot 1.2.4 that have been assert crashing occasionally. It looks like it's occurring when the users expunge their mailboxes, but I'm not sure as I can't reproduce it myself. The error in the logs is: Oct 6 07:33:09 oh-popmap3p dovecot: imap: user=<YYYY>, rip=XXXX, pid=11931: Panic: file mail-index-view.c: line 264

imap segfaults when using antispam plugin, and moving mail to an 'unsure' folder.
I put up a question on serverfault first, which has the details, including a stack trace: http://serverfault.com/questions/713687/dovecot-antispam-error-storing-mail . Details also copied below. Is this a known bug? If I built dovecot from source rather than using the Ubuntu 14.04 packages, would I expect that to help? Are there any configuration details that might be relevant? (dovecot -n

Subject: IMAP crash on index
I'm running Dovecot 1.2.15 as an IMAP server on an up-to-date Debian v6 VM. I've recently upgraded the server from a pretty crusty old Debian v4 installation, though I don't recall exactly which version of Dovecot that would have been running. I guess I could try crawling through the old logs to check if it is likely to be useful. The upgrade seemed to have gone fine and I've been

sig11 in 1.1rc5 fts
This happened from one user near noon on the 17th and 19th (today) of this month. From the backtrace it looks like they were searching, but I won't know for sure unless I need to ask them. Is this possibly fixed already? I just haven't upgraded dovecot in a while due to lack of problems. The sig11 happened a few dozen times, a few seconds apart each day. I have one coredump from

Wrong UIDs returned from mailbox_transaction_commit_get_uids()
Hi, Wrong UIDs are returned from mailbox_transaction_commit_get_uids() in dovecot-1.1.rc3. The problem is in: int mailbox_transaction_commit(struct mailbox_transaction_context **t) { uint32_t tmp; return mailbox_transaction_commit_get_uids(t, &tmp, &tmp, &tmp); } It should be: int mailbox_transaction_commit(struct mailbox_transaction_context **t) { uint32_t tmp1,
