Possible programming error in maildir_mail_get_save_date
The maildir_mail_gate_save_date routine
(lib-storage/index/maildir/maildir-mail.c) returns the save date when
that was determined by looking at the ctime of the corresponding
file. This is different from all other get_save_date routines which
either return -1 if the date could not be determined or 0 to signal
success. A particular problem caused by this would be that the

Bug in keywords conversion with courier-dovecot-migrate.pl v1.1.7
The problem is the file glob on line 344 in convert_subscriptions()
# read updates from the directory
my %updates;
foreach (<$keyword_dir/*>) {
This isn't going to pick up any files beginning with a dot, so most of
the update files in the courierimapkeywords directory are going to be
skipped.

Data loss from removing dovecot.index* files?
Hi there,
I've been rewriting the courier-dovecot-migrate script to handle
dovecot->courier conversions in addition to courier->dovecot. One
issue I've found is that when the courier->dovecot conversion is
performed a second time (using --overwrite) and the dovecot-uidlist
file is written again, Dovecot starts generating errors when accessing
the maildir. The simple

imaptest, with options!
I hacked some command line options into imaptest.
I dont think I broke it..
Place into dovecot-source root as usual and compile with:
gcc imaptest.c -o imaptest -Wall -W -I. -Isrc/lib -DHAVE_CONFIG_H
src/lib/liblib.a
As per Timo's instructions.
# imaptest -h imaptest [USER at IP:PORTNO] [pass=PASSWORD] [mbox=MBOX]

1.0 beta1 released
As promised, here it is finally.
v1.0 is getting nearer and I want people to start looking at Dovecot's
sources. Getting some more help with development would be nice, but I'd
also like to hear if there are any hidden bugs in the code. So, one week
from now I'll start offering 1000 EUR for the first person to point out
a remotely exploitable security hole in Dovecot. See

[dovecot-2.1.15] mdbox corruption, doveadm force-resync can't repair it (throws segfault)
Hi Timo, hi all!
Today i noticed imap throws segmentation faults and dumps cores. I
looked into logs I can see:

PATCH: flexible array members in dovecot 1.1
It looks like the build problems with the flexible array members in
Dovecot 1.1 and GCC 2.95 has been raised several times already on this
list, but no one mentioned out that autoconf 2.61+ provides a macro to
deal with these.

Major CPU spike for SSL parameters?
I went from a nightly of about 20051117 or so (about alpha4 generation) to
1.0beta1 yesterday, and dovecot is now spinning the CPU furiously apparently
every ~10 minutes per:

Hmm, yes, I think this an unnecessary RFC5322 -> RFC5321 address
translation. Will look at making a fix tomorrow.

Compiler warnings in dovecot-2.1.2 and pigeonhole 0.3.0
I'm seeing a few warnings emitted when building for x86. They're pretty
obvious, but if you want the configure options etc, I can provide those.
In Dovecot 2.1.2 (I also see some of these in 2.1.1):
1) src/lib-index/mail-cache-fields.c

Time moved backwards by 4398 seconds
Dovecot (v1.1.rc8) died tonight, with an error about time moving
backwards by 4398 seconds. I can see from logs that this has happend a
few times before with the imap processes, without me noticing. I sure
noticed the master process missing, though :-).
I was puzzled that it was always 4398 seconds, in particular because
this server runs an NTP daemon. A little searching for this problem

[patch] Re: Test migration (IMAP copy) and INTERNALDATE?]
I haven't been able to find what is responsible for altering the time on
APPENDed mail, but was able to come up with a temporary workaround ...
simply calling utime() later on in the process resolves it.
Below is my patch.

is that I'm unable to set up the mail account in Sugar.
