FC1 and FC2 RPMs now available
I have made my first run at building FC1 and FC2 rpms for Asterisk
1.0.0. These are based off of Greg's spec files which a few minor
changes. Source and binary RPMs are available at:
ftp://asterisk.purplehat.net/pub/asterisk/
Please report any problems with these files to myself and not Greg as he
has nothing to do with these builds. :)
Sorry these took so long; it was a wild week at

dovecot problem with ssl
Hi all,
I already searched for this error on google and nothing
I never install dovecot, this is a first time.
This error, I know, is too newbie and stupid, but I
checked more than twice.
root at server:/usr/local/etc/dovecot # sievec /home3/virtual/default.sieve
doveconf: Fatal: Error in configuration file
/usr/local/etc/dovecot/conf.d/10-ssl.conf line 7: Unknown setting: ssl

Authentication woes.
I'm still searching but hoping someone can offer a clue-stick.
Long story short! I had a server crash suddenly and all I can get at
are the files. Built a new host and copied the data and config files
over, correcting ownership and permissions (hopefully) as I went.
But now I can't get logged in.
Messages in /var/log/dovecot/dovecot-info.log, without saslauthd
running, are like

Phishing attempt
FYI/Heads up,
I /just/ received what looks like a phishing attempt for information
about Open Source PBX usage. It says it comes from Digium but all the
links (including the one for digium.com) point elsewhere.

dovecot sasl with postfix: SASL LOGIN authentication failed: Connection lost to authentication server
When using dovecot (2.1.5) sasl with postfix (2.8.4) behind nginx smtp
proxy I am seeing a ton of errors of the form:
postfix/smtpd[7731]: warning: unknown[192.168.0.6]: SASL LOGIN
authentication failed: Connection lost to authentication server
Nothing is printed by dovecot in the logs regarding the error. It seems
that dovecot just hung up on postfix. (side note: no, can't use xclient

Dovecot-sieve processing optimizations
I'm working at the next part of the virtual domains mail server. I'm
moving this account (raanders at acm.org is a forwarder) which has a bunch
of procmail rules to file into folders.
My question is if it is more efficient is use?

stat failed: Not a directory
I have recently installed dovecot on a FreeBSD mailserver running postfix.
But when I try to login with imap/pop3, I always get an error "stat failed:
Not a directory".
I guess it is something wrong with the mail format postfix uses to store the
message, but I don't seem to find the correct solution.
Here's the postfix log with the successful delivery:

trying to remove cyrus-sasl
I'm trying to remove the packages for cyrus-sasl using yum, but for
some reason, yum wants to uninstall everything related to e-mail, as
well as X-Windows, Gnome, etc etc.
yum remove cyrus-sasl
