Postfix delivers mails to maildir and not to dovecot LDA for a virtual user
Hi I have been able to setup postfix and dovecot using postgres as the backend store with virtual user maps on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Server. I have been following instructions from here: http://wiki2.dovecot.org/HowTo/DovecotPostgresql I haven't setup postfix to use saslauthd and PAM, instead I am using dovecot for SASL authentication. Rest of the table structures and query files are the same as

mbox File too large error
Hello, I have a rather large (~400MB) INBOX file in mbox format. When using deliver, it complains in the logs: Dec 2 16:47:13 petole deliver(niko): write() failed with mbox file /home/niko/mail/INBOX: File too large I do not see anything related in the configuration. And ulimit shows nothing special: $ ulimit -a core file size (blocks, -c) 0 data seg size (kbytes, -d)

Dovecot as LDA with Postfix and virtual users
Hello! I've been trying to configure Dovecot to work as LDA for file-based virtual users with Postfix. Some part in the configuration seems to miss though, as mails are received by Postfix, but instead of giving it to Dovecot for delivery, it delivers the mails itself. Postfix drops the mail in /var/mail/<user>/mbox, if Dovecot would be called, it should deliver it to

procmail -> deliver: file too large
I am using procmail with deliver as recommended on the wiki to send mail snagged by SpamAssassin straight to a spam folder. It seemed to be working fine, but now I'm finding messages like this: Sep 17 12:13:47 hosty deliver(whoey): write() failed with mbox file /var/mail/whoey: File too large I don't think this is a setrlimit problem -- the host operating system is OpenBSD 4.0. relay access denied problem thru iphone imap auth
I'm using postfix smtpd / dovecot. Running imaps, imap, pop3s, pop3. I have a ssl certificate setup. Everything works fine via IMAP except sending to an email from outside the network to a recipient outside the network. The problem is when someone (and this is being tested thru the iphone email client configured to use imap) logs in, they can read messages but cannot send to an address

setgid error
Hi all Trying to setup dovecot with mysql and postfix, I have configured it as given below. thecot user has the dovecot group as primary, and is also a member of mail and dovecot-users. Still, it can't setgid to dovecot-users. I tried changing the shell for the dovecot user to something useful and chmod'ing a file to dovecot-users, and it work well. Still, no mail comes through

Sieve problem. Timo, is this mbox file size limitation hard coded? If so, why?
I would not have expected this upon implementing sieve. And I really need to get around this limitation. LDA has no problem writing to these large mbox files. Why does sieve have a problem with them? This is very odd. May 10 17:45:04 greer dovecot: deliver(stan): write() failed with mbox file /home/stan/mail/1-Debian-Users: File too large May 10 17:45:04 greer dovecot: deliver(stan): write()

delivering mail to public mbox with permission 660?
I am migrating a couple old RH servers running sendmail and UW-IMAP to a new Ubuntu 10.04 servers running Postfix and Dovecot. I have everything working reasonably well except that the permissions of newly created mbox mail folders is always 600. I have reviewed the archives, google, and double checked everything is as suggested in the Dovecot Wiki / SharedMailboxes / Permissions. I am

I can connect pop3 clients and reveice mails and connect smtp clients and send mails, but it is delivered to /var/mail/%u instead the configured mailboxes in /var/local/dovecot/%u. I`ve configured postfix as say http://wiki.dovecot.org/LDA/Postfix.

potsfix keeping mail in queue on delivery error
Hello, Our mail server is running CentOS 5.3. I configured postfix with maildrop as the MDA. I had to deal with a strange issue : a user sent an email to an alias, which resolves into several internal addresses. One of these addresses had its mbox filled up (reached the mailbox_size_limit); so maildrop reported a 0x19 error code to postfix, who kept the mail in its queue, and repeatedly resent

parameters to deliver
Read this in the dovecot sieve wiki: "The envelope sender is taken from a Return-Path: header in the message. The envelope recipient is taken from -d option passed to deliver." Is "-d" still a valid deliver switch? When I configure postfix's main.cf like so... mailbox_command = /usr/local/libexec/dovecot/deliver -d -e ..it sqwaks with, "Jun 18 18:44:50

Postfix, mailbox_command, Dovecot deliver, LDAP and mail_location
I am trying to tell Dovecot deliver to use $mail_location as the location to store mail for system users. From the docs I've read <http://wiki.dovecot.org/MailLocation> I believe this is possible, but mail to my system users always gets delivered to their /home/<USERNAME> homedirectory. Here's what I've done so far: # Postfix main.cf mailbox_command =
