I'm running a Linux mail server with Postfix and Dovecot. I've noticed that the number of "imap-login" processes usually sits around 240, and "pop3-login" usually around 50 or so. The comments in the config file seem to indicate that, with my setup, I shouldn't see more than about 10 of each. Am I misunderstanding the config or is this expected behavior?

Hello, We are running dovecot 1.0.5 on a test server, with FreeBSD 6.2 (though I have noticed the same problem since dovecot versions in the 0.99 range). We don't have very many simultaneous pop/imap users, but we have a proliferation of pop3-login processes. Currently we have 128 such processes. We have 11 imap-login processes, but only a few actual imap processes running. Is this normal?

I had an academic question for the list. What is the theoretical limit of the number of simultaneous sources in Icecast? What limits the number of sources that can run? Is it purely a function of the resources on the server or is there any inherit limitations? And given enough resources would extreme number of sources like 10,000 - 100,000 be expected to be supported? Cheers

Is there a way to limit simultaneous calls. I like to limit simultaneous outgoing calls as more than few simulataneous calls are charged by my voip providers. However, I do not want to have any such restriction for internal calls. Thanks Jim

Using R-1.8.0 (d/l and compiled on 2003-10-01) on WinXP, I seem to be unable to determine the maximum memory allocated to R. The help still says to use memory.limit(size=NA), but this returns the value NA. In addition, I have set --max-mem-size=2G but I run out of memory somewhere around 500Mb (which is why I am trying to find out how much memory is allocated). I don't have any other programs
