Dovecot auth works when tested with doveadm, but fails with Postfix
I have three postfix 2.9.5 servers: chombo, rush, yoshi. Chombo relays to rush and yoshi for outbound email. Outbound relay requires SASL authentication. Rush and yoshi run Dovecot 2.1.12 servers with simple passwd-file backends. If I create a new password hash for chombo's user, houseloki, on either rush or yoshi: # doveadm pw -u houseloki -p <password> {CRAM-MD5}... Then I

NSS on Debian Stretch with libnss3: Can not initialize SSL context
I am unable to get 2.7.4 to work with NSS support as provided by libnss3 2:3.26.2 on Debian stretch. Currently NSS supports two database formats identified by prefixes "sql:" for the new database and "dbm:" for the legacy database. I created the NSS database in directory /etc/nut with command certutil -N -d dbm:NSS_db --empty-password I copied over public key and

Unable to mount using sec=none and mount.cifs
I'm attempting to mount a CIFS share with the following stipulations: 1. I must have the UNIX extensions (specfically, symlinks). 2. I must use plaintext authentication (don't ask). I've recompiled the cifs kernel module to allow plaintext authentication, using the stock Ubuntu 7.10 kernel (2.6.22.9c). My /etc/fstab line looks like... //superman/www-pub

SQL field format for digest-md5?
I'm enabling digest-md5 authentication with "user at example.com" username and plain-text passwords stored in a MySQL database. What should the password field contain in order to work with digest-md5? Would the following: SELECT CONCAT('{digest-md5}', MD5(CONCAT(username, '::', password))) AS password ... be correct?

MD5 Signature Mismatch
I found an old thread from 2007: http://www.mail-archive.com/flac at xiph.org/msg00702.html I have a user who is getting this same "MD5 Signature mismatch." 2 times he told me he got it today: 1 time: using the flac 1.2.1 encoder (command line compiled from official flac src) on a g5 (power pc) mac, he created a file set and uploaded to archive.org. archive.org uses flac 1.2.1

Help with yum and cpio: MD5 sum mismatch
I am trying to install Ruby-1.8.7p302 on a CentOS-5.5 server in preparation for a Rails-3 application deployment. I have downloaded the source from Rubyforge.org, unpacked it, and ran ./config and make. Everything built without error. I then ran checkinstall to create an rpm package. That too completed without error. However, when I try to install the resulting package using: yum localinstall
