selfsigned ssl certificate
Hello, I need to setup a secure ssl site but I'm using a FC3 howto wich is not compatibel anymore wwith Centos 4.2 Now I removed the standard crt.key and server.key files and used the make testcert script in /etc/httpd/conf to create a new one with the appropriate company name and such. Binning or grouping data
Newbie here. Many apologies in advance for using the incorrect lingo. I'm new to statistics and VERY new to R. I'm attempting to "group" or "bin" data together in order to analyze them as a combined group rather than as discrete set. I'll provide a simple example of the data for illustrative purposes. "nopassword" extra field useless with LDAP passdb
Hi, We are trying to implement a highly secure mail server with user authentication restricted to SSL certificates only (not using passwords at all). Still, user information is stored in a LDAP directory. In this configuration LDAP is used to check whether the user is registered (and probably supply quota and other info), and actual authentication is done by SSL layer. According to wiki, a

Outlook dialing
The bar is getting raised yet again http://www.voipmonitor.net/2007/06/05/New+Features+And+Services+For+Pack et8+Virtual+Office.aspx I personally use Snapanumber $30 or there abouts (after trialing a few other TAPI solutions and finding them sub-par) and think it's a great product but interesting to see how more people are expecting desktop/phone integration applications. Does anyone

sshd executes ~/.ssh/sshrc without using user's shell
I am considering allowing (relitivly) untrusted local users onto my fileserver, so they can use SFTP to access their home directories. I have a custom shell, (a taint-mode enabled perl script) that allows users to change their password, which I have modifed to only allow a '-c' command for the sftp-server. I have also disabled TCP port forwarding. However, some reading of the OpenSSH

Jazz drive
Hi We setup a server the other day for a client, and it has a 35gig jazz drive in it. Centos 4.2 recognizes it as a cd disk. How would I go abouts getting it to read and write to it? When I click on the cd-rom disc icon it loads up cd/dvd creator. Shouldn't it just recognize it as an external drive? Thanks

remote database queries
With good and faithful python remote database queries look something like this: url.urlopen("username/pssword at host",query) where query is something like "select * from table where ...." Does R support queries on remote hosts with username and password? What does a simple example look like? Thank you.

Login script doesn't run
Hi, The login script has worked for our win98 computers since the dawn of time (or there abouts). Then something happened or I did something and the login script doesn't run anymore. I can run it manually. This was version 2.2.3a. I started smbd with -d10 and didn't see any call for a script. Is the login script mentioned in a working system? In an effort to fix this, I deleted and

Login script doesn't run - Solved
I hate being stupid. Here is the answer: This won't work: [global] logon script = %U.bat # Win9x needs this This will work: [global] # Win9x needs this logon script = %U.bat The comment has to be on it's own line. Thanks to all for trying to help. Bob Crandell (bob@assuredcomp.com) wrote*: > >Hi, >The login script has worked for our win98 computers

applaud.wav sounds worse in 1.0?
I've been running through a collection of hard to encode samples that the lame developers use, and others, doing ABX testing at various quality levels looking for my personal sweet spot. Last time I did this for RC3 I found that most samples where pretty transparent around the 3.5-4 region (my ears aren't that well trained, and I don't want them to be :-), but this time I noticed

The problem is that the content of the attribute "sambaLMPassword" is deleted. I remember that in my previous version of Samba (3.0.28) both attributes were

Syntax Problem
In an *.rhtml, why do I need to add <% for product in @products %> in order that I may call an <img class="list-image" src="<%= product.img_url %>"/>. Is there not another way to skip the "for product" line? I really dont want to include it. I tried @products = product but it does not work. Can anyone help shed light on this matter? -- Posted via
