[patch] Mac Universal Binaries
Hi all, Speex currently decides endianness at configure-time. This causes the ppc half of Mac universal binaries to have some endianness problems. Most notably, the header built by speex_packet_to_header() has incorrect byte-ordering. This Apple developer page describes the incantation that can be used to build universal binaries on Mac. It also highlights the configure-time versus compile-time

flac/metaflac 32/64 Universal OS X builds
I guess I should add this to the long list of things Apple has broken that used to work well on NEXTSTEP (the operating system that has been turned into OS X). Now that you mention it, I remember having a problem getting flac to cross-compile in one build step, so I just did the manual lipo glue that you talked about. I assumed it was only because I was too lazy to figure out how to

just noise
Hi, I tried both the stable and beta versions of the speex source code download on Mac OS 10.4.9. I just do: ./configure make sudo make install Then I added libspeex.a from /usr/local/lib and the headers to my xcode project. My app compiles and I'm able to call all of the speex functions. I copied the example code from the website and tweaked it to include the first 10000 bytes of

C macros and Makevars/package building
Hi We are currently embedding a rather large C++ library in R (BioC), and we want some comments on the portability of how we have approach this. First of, we are not really able to do much about the portability of the basic library, which of course is the main question :) We have an approach which seems to work, I just want a bit of feedback on it.... The way we integrate it into R is

dovecot-2.0.alpha2 doesn't compile on Mac OS X
Howdy, dovecot-2.0.alpha2 doesn't compile on Mac OS X. [patch] Mac Universal Binaries
Well, I don't quite understand why AC_C_BIGENDIAN and the solution you're proposing is likely to break other big endian machines (the ones that don't have __BIG_ENDIAN__). Can you send a patch that addresses that (i.e. still uses AC_C_BIGENDIAN when it works)? Jean-Marc Peter Grayson a ?crit : > Hi all, > > Speex currently decides endianness at configure-time. 0.99.10-test12
http://dovecot.procontrol.fi/test/ I should have released 0.99.10 already I think.. There's just two annoying problems that I think should be fixed first: - PAM: If user gives a wrong password, dovecot-auth process sleeps for two seconds, blocking everyone else who are trying to authenticate at the time. So using PAM isn't very good idea at the moment. - OpenSSL problems. Are they

bug reports and missing license headers
Hi all! What is the right way to report bugs in libopus? I couldn't find any publicly available bugtracker. Anyway, the problem I need to report is that some source files in libopus are missing copyright headers. This breaks license check script that we use in chromium to validate licenses for third-party dependencies. Specifically the following files don't have copyright header:

RE: Difference in Encoding of files on Pocket PCvis-à-vis desktop
Hello Jean-Marc, I encoded a 143 kb file on both the desktop as well as the Pocket PC using the default settings/ Here are the results. Size : Desktop - 17.6 Kb, Pocket PC -17.1 kb (not much difference in size) Now when I try to decode the file encoded on the Pocket PC, I get a message "This doesn't look like a Speex file". However, when I decode the Pocket PC encoded file on

Bad packet length error
Hi, I am running sshd (openssh-2.9p2) on a power-pc LynxOS box, and am connecting from a ssh client (openssh-2.9p2) on an x86 Linux box. This works fine for ssh protocol version 1, but am getting the below error for ssh v2: Disconnecting: Bad packet length -857542839. I am also attaching the complete debug traces from sshd & ssh below. I am not sure if this is an "endian" issue.

[LLVMdev] Adding ClamAV to the llvm testsuite (long)
Hi, I see that you are looking for new programs for the testsuite, as described in 'Compile programs with the LLVM compiler', and 'Adding programs to the llvm testsuite" on llvm.org/OpenProjects. My favourite "C source code" is ClamAV (www.clamav.net), and I would like to get it included in the testsuite. This mail is kind of long, but please bear with me, as I want

Platforms with MSB (Most Significant Byte)
Hi, I asked some days ago how to guess the o.s. the machine is running. I found that it is stored in a variable called R_PLATFORM. Now I need a full list of all the values this variable can have because I need to set an option depending on the endianness of the platform in which we are compiling the package. Anyone can help me? Thanks, Virgilio Gómez Rubio Dpto. Estadística e

Apple patch 9
Patch #9 adds support for Open Directory and an encrypted SSL keystore. Notes about this patch: It adds --enable-apple and --with-od options to configure (after running autoconf). It depends on patch #7 (hash_table_create/destroy). Automake wipes out this patch's changes to Makefile.in. The - framework options should come from Makefile.am but the author didn't do that. It uses a

Apple patch 10
Patch #10 allows the pop3 and imap mail processes to handle multiple clients. We know this weakens the security model but it greatly increases scalability especially when clients are idle. Here's how it works. When there are no mail processes, or none serving fewer than mail_max_connections clients, the master creates a new mail process pretty much like it does now, but with some
