Panic: file mailbox-list-maildir.c: line 133: unreached
I converted personal mailboxes from maildir to sdbox. Public mailboxes are still in maildir format, because I need per-user seen flags. However, if the user is subscribed to public mailboxes and the client sends 'LIST (SUBSCRIBED) "" *', dovecot crashes with: imap(holger at mauermann.org): Panic: file mailbox-list-maildir.c: line 133: unreached imap(holger at mauermann.org):

Dovecot v1.2.rc5 dbox file permissions
Hi Timo, I've just setup Dovecot v1.2.rc5 and switched the mailbox format of one account to dbox. Therefor I've created an empty directory, called dbox, with access mode 0700, like the user's home directory. After the IMAP login with Thunderbird some dboxes was created. All permissions were set fine (0700 / 0600), except the permissions for the files: *

2.1.7 altmove not working
Hi list, I've just set up a 2.1.7 server, and have migrated a couple of accounts across from a 2.0.15 server, keeping the old configs. I have a strange problem on the new box in that altmove just doesn't work. I have my main storage under /home/email, indexes under /home/indexes and ALT under /home/email_archive. When I run the altmove command, the following broken symlink is created

mdbox, quota, ns, maildir quota?
Hello, I pasted my config below, hoping someone can point out something obvious. In my dovecot.log I am seeing: Warning: quota: Namespace '' is not Maildir, skipping for Maildir++ quota I am using mysql userdb_* and passing maildir:~/maildir or mdbox:~/mdbox for mail. When its maildir its fine, I had that originally then used dsync to convert to mdbox, updated mysql entry to point to

Odd ownership of the dovecot-uidlist file
Hi, We have just recently switched from Courier to Dovecot for both IMAAP and POP access for our shared hosting platform, and while the issues we have been seeing with Courier have gone away a new one has popped up. Unfortunately googling for an answer is difficult as it falls into the ownership and permissions category which people seem to have all the time. But in those cases it always

1.1.12 release candidate
http://dovecot.org/tmp/dovecot-1.1.12.rc.tar.gz I would have already released 1.1.12, but it needed the MAILBOXDIR change described below, and I'm slightly worried that it might have broken some special setup. So please test first and I'll release in v1.1.12 then in a few days. * Added :MAILBOXDIR= to mail_location to specify the root dir for mailboxes. dbox users should migrate to

Allow_nets + MySQL failing when using range notation
Hello all, I am testing my dovecot installation in order to restrict access via POP3 for IPs outside my network. I have read and understood the instructions in the wiki and I have reached a configuration that works ONLY when single IPs are listed in allow_nets but not when ranges in the notation x.x.x.x/y are listed. Some examples should be more explanatory. I am using 1.0.rc15 patched as

Roadmap to future
v1.1.0 is finally getting closer, so it's time to start planning what happens after it. Below is a list of some of the larger features I'm planning on implementing. I'm not yet sure in which order, so I think it's time to ask again what features companies would be willing to pay for? Sponsoring Dovecot development gets you: - listed in Credits in www.dovecot.org - listed in
