dovecot bulletins?
As a long term user of qpopper with bulletins, I'd like to know if the bulletin feature is planned for dovecot? I really miss bulletins :-), this is very convenient way of providing information to users. Best regards, MU

RFE: please add Return-Path: to sieve sent mail headers
May I ask to add Return-Path: some meaningful header line to sieve sent mail headers in vacation message? Now the header line isn't generated at all and the effect is as follows: on receiving MTA: 2014-05-09T15:04:32+02:00 host/ip postfix/qmgr[2408]: 41F2F6024E: from=<>, size=900, nrcpt=1 (queue active) in received mail body: Return-Path: <> Would be nice to get: Return-Path:

Support for multiple passwords?
Hi! Currently, the passwords are stored in plaintext for my dovecot, as I am still using cram-md5 AND digest-md5. I have still to offer that, as I have some deprecated clients, therefore, I am unable to hash at least those passwords for that accounts. I've found on the Wiki: > In future it's possible that Dovecot could support multiple passwords > in different schemes for a

assertion failed while using sieve
Hi, there is a line in TODO: "- sieve-cmu.c crash: i_assert(buf->used - 1 == part->body_size.physical_size); ". Yes, we've really seen this crash. Therefore we upgraded to dovecot-1.2.3 with dovecot-1.2-sieve-0.1.11 in order to use sieve plugin (i.e. not cmu-sieve). We use Solaris 10 on Sun servers, we don't use NFS. However, unfortunately, dovecot with sieve crashes

post-login scripting using PHP
I'd like to write post-login script using PHP. I noticed every shell post-login script ends with: exec "$@", which effectively executes dovecot's script-login. However, while I try to do the same (?) in PHP: $prog = $argv[1]; exec ("$prog"); it doesn't work. The client timeouts, dovecot (2.0.6) says "Disconnected for inactivity". May be I don't

Mixed Autehtnication and password schemes
Hi Looking for some confirmation/direction on how to achieve the following. We have a requirement to support both SASL PLAIN and DIGEST-MD5 authentication (certification reasons). In addition to this we have an application (webmail) that utilises a master password pattern for access, as the contain web portal provides the necessary authentication. I have access to users passwords in PLAIN text

Authentication using multiple password schemes
Hi there, I tried to patch the actual Dovecot 1.1 rc1 with the http://dovecot.org/patches/1.1/auth-multi-password.diff. The patch doesn't work for this version and I don't want to get an old version. Is this patch perhaps in the 1.1 rc1version included? I'm not sure because I don't really know how it's to use. I thought about returning some password fields from a database.

Save user passwords in clear text
Is it possible to save user passwords as clear text through dovecot? I am currently using MD5 passwords and I allow only "plain and login? mechanisms but I want to switch my database to clear text as this will give me the ability to use more mechanisms such as CRAM-MD5. Is this possible? Thank you

Double variable expansion / multiple password mechanisms
Hi, Trying to solve the problem of supporting multiple auth mechanisms + proxy and really don't want to store user passwords in plain test and fine to do master user to backend. I had the crazy thought I could do something like the following: For each user Store supported password schemes as LDAP attributes: userPasswordCRAM-MD5: {CRAM-MD5}xxx userPasswordDIGEST-MD5: {DIGEST-MD5}xxxx

Headsup on feature removal - password
> Password schemes: HMAC-MD5, RPA, SKEY, PLAIN-MD4, LANMAN, NTLM, SMD5 The web is flooded with plain text passwords and hashed passwords harvested from hacked servers. Dovecot stores passwords with the same scheme used for client authentication. Therefore, we use crammd5/hmac-md5. It does not look like much, but is better than plaintext. As md5 is about to go, and I have no intention to

Running random forest using different training and testing schemes
Hi, I would like to run random Forest classification algorithm and check the accuracy of the prediction according to different training and testing schemes. For example, extracting 70% of the samples for training and the rest for testing, or using 10-fold cross validation scheme. How can I do that? Is there a function? Thanks a lot, Chrysanthi.
