Trying to understand Suspend 2
I am trying to understand Suspend 2 and what I have to do to get it working in Centos 5. There is quite a bit for it at ATrpms: http://www.atrpms.net/dist/el5/hibernate-suspend2/ http://www.atrpms.net/dist/el5/kernel-suspend2/ The later is the kernel patches that they refer to at the Suspend2 website, so I don't have to recompile the kernel? I noticed that over at:

Procmail patch for dovecot delivery
Hello! As discussed in the previous thread about "Dovecot deliver logging problem and procmail" I have made a small patch for procmail to deliver through dovecot's deliver program (or any other delivery program). So Procmail does not write the mailboxes directly any more. So delivery is done through pipes and an external program which can deliver the files. Since dovecot's

Using procmail to mark messages as read in dovecot
So, I use procmail extensively, and I have for a long time, but marking messages as 'read' in a Maildir has always been a little wonky: TRAP='mv "$LASTFOLDER" "${LASTFOLDER}:2,S"' Since I've switched to dovecot, is there a way to mark a message on delivery as read or not new or seen? -- Clarke's Law: Sufficiently advanced technology is

Suspend2 rpm for Centos 4.5 and 5.0?
Is there a source for Suspend2 available as an rpm for Centos 4.5 and/or 5.0? And to use it would it be necessary to recompile the kernel?

OT: procmail recipe question
I'm trying to use procmail and I'm having trouble getting it to set some headers. I have one mailing list that sets ?Newsgroups: in the header and I want to remove it. I have the following test recipe: :0 * ^Subject:.*\<testing * ^(Mime-Version:|Content-) | formail -IMime-Version: -IContent- If I understand it correctly, it should remove the Mime-Verion and Content headers. Random procmail filter failures.
Hi all, I'm seeing a random issue with my procmail filters (only on email from this list) where once every so often, it will fail to filter a message. I am sorting by the to/cc email address, and this rule works on 99.9% of posts, however every now and again, I see something like this happen: From centos-bounces at centos.org Sat Jan 5 01:57:28 2008 Subject: Re: [CentOS]

Oops
Hello everybody, I've my Gentoo's /usr/portage on a loopback btrfs. Just wanted to sync and got an oops. I've a rsync and a ls process in status D now. The system has been in suspend (tuxonice 3.0-rc3) with mounted btrfs, perhaps that is related? mail delivery question
I've built a new mail system with Centos 6.5, and I'm running fetchmail - sendmail - procmail to maildir. I have all of this working at the moment.(I know, postfix was the default, but for lots of other reasons, I switched, and that isn't an issue, I don't think). I am using dovecot as an imap server. Procmail won't update indexes during email delivery, so I'm having some

rsync via ssh script
Hi, does anybody know, how a bash shell script looks, which automatically enters the ssh password? the rsync call should be: rsync -avz -e ssh /home/johndoe/data/repository billythegate@192.168.10.102:/home/johndoe/junk the call causes a password question. Is ist possible to automate that by a cron? If yes how should the script look to automatically enter the password? ThanX for an answer.

Personal dovecot
Do you think it wold be worthwhile to add command line options to "deliver" and "imap" to make them ignore "system wide" configuration file and use ~/.dovecotrc instead? I would like to use "imap via fetchmail ssh plugin" and "deliver via ~/.forward (to get sieve support)". Such options would allow "cleaner" configuration. --

procmail --> deliver question
Hi there, I use dovecot-1.1-rc4, got imap, imaps, pop3 & pop3s working fine with the mbox format. I use sendmail-8.14.2 as an MTA, sendmail uses procmail as an LDA. I migrated to maildir format now, and pipe all my mail to deliver right now to be able to make use of the indexing etc... Problem is I run into some errors : #My .procmailrc PATH=/usr/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin

RSync + SSH tunneling through firewall
Dear RSYNCians, I'm trying to rsync my labtop pc (let's assume A-computer) with my desktop pc (let's assume C-computer) through our firewall. In between there is one computer (let's assume B-computer) that has an open port, so I theoretically could connect via a tunnel. I checked the SSH- website and internet and so on but did not find an answer that works. I tried the

Is anyone else having these. Using like slrn and ncftp I'm running into situations where scrolling too far down the buffer doesn't seem to roll correctly (for lack of a better term). Has anyone else encountered this and is there a fix? Preston

CentOS 5.2 - Nautilus - file types are not associated with an action and icons are not displayed
Hi all, I use CentOS 5.2 as a desktop and the Gnome Nautilus doesn't display icons related to the file types and all associated actions ("open with") are lost. It is so bad, that the desktop shortcuts are displayed as ordinary files "Filesystem.desktop" or "openoffice.org-1.9-calc.desktop", and when I click on them, the Nautilus wants to know what it should
