[LLVMdev] 2008-01-25-ByValReadNone.c Failure
Hi all, I'm seeing this failure on my PPC G4 box running TOT with llvm-gcc 4.2. Is anyone else seeing this? I'm sure it's related to the byval stuff that's recently gone into LLVM. I'm attaching the output of this command: $ llvm-gcc -emit-llvm -O3 -S -o - -emit-llvm /Users/wendling/llvm/ llvm.src/test/CFrontend/2008-01-25-ByValReadNone.c As you can see in it, there

Sadly you failed to set your email program to send plain text and the data is corrupted at my end. I also think you need to reduce the size of the data set... the intent here is to increase your understanding, not debug your particular analysis. I will say that I am having a very challenging time understanding what you are trying to accomplish though. What are the equations that you think need

OK, Let's try this again! Here is the reproducible script; it is long because I had to copy the panel dataset here. My question is related to systemfit; I don't know how to get the result for the entire panel. #Reproducible script Empdata<- read.csv("/Users/ngwinuiazenui/Documents/UPLOADemp.csv") View(Empdata) install.packages("systemfit")

R vs SPSS output for princomp
Hi, I am using R to do a principal components analysis for a class which is generally using SPSS - so some of my question relates to SPSS output (and this might not be the right place). I have scoured the mailing list and the web but can't get a feel for this. It is annoying because they will be marking to the SPSS output. Basically I'm getting different values for the component

lmer4 and variable selection
Dear list, I am currently working with a rather large data set on body temperature regulation in wintering birds. My original model contains quite a few dependent variables, but I do not (of course) wish to keep them all in my final model. I've fitted the following model to the data: >

Revert to R 3.2.x code of logicalSubscript in subscript.c?
Suharto, If you're interested in performance with subscripting, you might want to look at pqR (pqR-project.org). It has some substantial performance improvements for subscripting over R Core versions. This is especially true for the current development version of pqR (probably leading to a new release in about a month). You can look at a somewhat-stable snapshot of recent pqR development

pls regression - optimal number of LVs
Dear R-helpers, I have performed a PLS regression with the mvr function from the pls.pcr package an I have 2 questions : 1- do you know if mvr automatically centers the data ? It seems to me that it does so... 2- why in the situation below does the output say that the optimal number of latent variables is 4 ? In my humble opinion, it is 2 because the RMS increases and the R2 decreases when 3 LVs

factanal results interpretation - am I right here?
Hi, I have obtained some results with factanal that seem to support a hypothesis I already had, and I'd like to verify that I can indeed conclude this from this new analysis. We had subjects reproduce perceived trajectories with a device that allowed us to measure spatial position (the path) and the device's orientation at any of those positions. From this, we calculated the rotation of

lme4/anova, error message: "Calculated PWRSS for a LMM is negative"
Dear all, I'm using the latest version of the package lme4 and R version 2.7.2 (2008-08-25). After I run the model, I get the results of the model (cf. below). Then, I run an ANOVA using the "anova" function and I get the following message "Error in anova(lmer1) : Calculated PWRSS for a LMM is negative". I went trough the R-mailing list and a similar error message was

multi-class classification using rpart
Hi, I am trying to make a multi-class classification tree by using rpart. I used MASS package'd data: fgl to test and it works well. However, when I used my small-sampled data as below, the program seems to take forever. I am not sure if it is due to slowness or there is something wrong with my codes or data manipulation. Please be advised ! The data is described as the output from str()

write.table problem
Dear R helpers, I have been using the loadings function from the multiv library and I get the typical output (see below). When I try to export these results to a file using a write.table() I get the following error message "Error in as.data.frame.default(x[[i]], optional = TRUE) : can't coerce loadings into a data.frame" Any idea why write.table is doing that and any

simple save question
Hi, When I run the survfit function, I want to get the restricted mean value and the standard error also. I found out using the "print" function to do so, as shown below, print(km.fit,print.rmean=TRUE) Call: survfit(formula = Surv(diff, status) ~ 1, type = "kaplan-meier") records n.max n.start events *rmean *se(rmean) median 200.000

Pasting the code right into the email is usually safest, though you DO have to post using plain text (as the Posting Guide indicates) or your code may get mangled by the automatic html format removal. Multiple Comparisons-Kruskal-Wallis-Test: kruskal{agricolae} and kruskalmc{pgirmess} don't yield the same results although they should do (?)
Hi there, I am doing multiple comparisons for data that is not normally distributed. For this purpose I tried both functions kruskal{agricolae} and kruskalmc{pgirmess}. It confuses me that these functions do not yield the same results although they are doing the same thing, don't they? Can anyone tell my why this happens and which function I can trust? kruskalmc() tells me that there are no
