Overide the default find_all
Hi,
In my model i want to overide the default find all for sorting purposes.
Is this possible or can this only be done in the control or by adding a
custom method in the model.
def self.find_all()
@contents = Content.find(:all,
:order => ''pos, position_id'')
end

Strange error in R CMD check --timings
This SO post: https://stackoverflow.com/q/76583828 describes a strange R
CMD check error. Depending on the contents of a comment in one of the
examples sections of a help page, an error like this could be triggered:

"CheckExEnv")), pos = "CheckExEnv")

R CMD check: Error in get("ptime", pos = "CheckExEnv") ...
Hi,
Does anyboody have insight into what this error terminating "R CMD check" on
an in-house package may imply?

timings for examples in R CMD check
I'm having a very hard time making R CMD check produce a clean check on
examples because of the timings inserted into examples by R CMD check.
I am getting a difference on every example output caused by timing
information being inserted by 'R CMD check'.
The current 'Writing R Extensions' manual[1] states on p. 14:
If directory tests has a subdirectory Examples

Screen settings for point of view in lattice and misc3d
I'm making some 3D plots with contour3d from misc3d and wireframe from lattice. I want to view them from below; i.e. the negative z-axis. I can't figure out how to do so. I would like my point of view looking up from below, with the z, y, and x axes positive going away. Can anyone tell me the correct settings for screen to achieve this? Here is what I've found so far:

mouse glitch in fullscreen game (borderlands)
I'm running wine 1.4, compiled myself (to ensure --with-xinput2) on Arch. I have tried all combinations of MouseWarpOverride and "automatically capture mouse in fullscreen windows" and can't alleviate this problem.
Once in a while, everything's fine (360 degrees rotation, smooth mouse action), but eventually (or most of the time, as soon as I start the game), the screen

geom_edge & color
Hi,
this seems to work (assuming that your problem was the setting of
colours...):
--- snip ---
network %>%
ggraph(., layout = "auto") +
# This produces an error...
# geom_edge_arc(curvature=0.3, aes(width=(E(network)$weight/10),
color=c("darkblue", "red")[as.factor(edge_list$relationship)], alpha=0.5))
+
# ... this works :-)

better seeking
When I was trying to find yesterday's xmms-plugin bug, i have noticed
that seeking in stream without seek-table isn't very good. With
attached patch it is much better.

better seeking
Ok, the patch from 2003 about improving seeking still didn't make it
to CVS, so here is another try.
I made some benchmarking with the test_seeking utility from flac
sources to show how bad the current seeking is, especially without
seektable. Track used for the experiment had about 50 minutes.
In the following table is average number of seeks and number of
decoded frames required for one

running count in data.frame
Hi,
I need to keep a running count of events that have happened in my
data.frame. I found a document called usingR that had an example of
doing this for random coin flips and I tried to modify it. It seems to
sort of work in the beginning, but then it stops and I don't
understand why. I'm trying to duplicate essentially the Excel
capability of =SUM($A$1:$A(Row number))

Numerical integration problem
Hi there
I'm trying to construct a model of mortality risk in 2D space that
requires numerical integration of a hazard function, for which I'm using
the integrate function. I'm occasionally encountering parameter
combinations that cause integrate to terminate with error "Error in
integrate... the integral is probably divergent", which I'm not sure how
to interpret. The
