Apache leaks sensitive info in PHP phpinfo() calls
Hi,
I wanted to get some opinions on this subject before I submit a PR about
it. I don't know if there are any pitfalls with the 'fix' I suggested
and though it best to run it past people here before submitting. If
there's a better place to post this please let me know (freebsd-ports?).
The send-pr output I was about to send explains everything so I'll just
paste it here:

New package stepR: fitting step-functions
Dear R users,
It is my pleasure to announce the availability of package stepR (1.0-2)
on CRAN.
The main purpose of the package is to fit piecewise constant functions
(a.k.a. step-functions or block signals) to serial data in a fully
data-driven manner under certain (Gaussian or non-Gaussian)
distributional assumptions.
It mainly implements the algorithms described in the references below -

Capistrano deployment in load balancer with sticky session
Hi,
I used to have a couple of applications running on a single server.
Now they have been migrated in two server, load balanced using sticky
sessions. They told me that files in the first server will be
replicated during the night to the secondary. I still have my old
Capistrano recipe to be updated. I thought I can create two different
environments, one for the first server, one for the second

Deployment problem with Capistrano
I have everything set up that I need - SVN, webserver (Apache2.2),
mongrels, etc. Capistrano is deploying the site well enough, to a
point.
I need to create sym-links to my file-column created content
directories (in
shared) and copy the database.yml file (also from shared) into the
current folder.
I''ve written the following task:

idmap configuration after initial deployment needed?
Hello,
Using Ubuntu 12.04 with Samba 4.1.11. I'm currently redirecting
windows folders to a Samba DC. This DC is not the one that was deployed
first. Based on discussions from another thread I copied the idmap.ldb
from the initial DC to the others that are deployed. I noticed upon
doing so the file permissions on the shares were broken. As in existing
users were unable to see their

up to 3000 lines capacity asterisk Deployment
Hello All,
I have a request from a prospectieve client to deploy a PBX capacity
that can do up to 3000+ lines within a geographic region similar to a
campus. The client wants analog lines for extensions and maybe VoIP
for some backhaul traffic while the other traffic would be carrid via
E1 channels. The client has other proposals to buy a mid, range telco
switch from alcatel or simens but i am

multi-server rails deployment
I''m building an app in rails that will be deployed on 3 different
servers but am not sure the best way to deploy it. The app is
something like Google Adwords (an online advertising program,
essentially).
ServerA is the Administration server
ServerB is the Ad server (feeds ad requests to affiliates)
ServerC is the Click server (handles incoming clicks from our affiliate sites)

smarter sparse files?
Question: Does ext2/3 (or any other filesystem you know of) support
a system call turning blocks within a file back into "sparse zeros",
i.e. giving the blocks back to the filesystem?
Background:
I am working on a slotted fileformat where internal fragmentation
occurs. One such occurrence is growth of the data in a given slot,
which currently requires me to handle the

Deploy software in fileserver folder

so for accessing a share on the file server, you'll need to add read rights

Is this read permission for the domain computer I need to configure in the

RoR Deployment on Shared Hosting
Hey all -
Well, I''ve gone through all of the tutorials I can get my hands on, and
I''ve developed what is basically a (very) simple front-end to a database
that I maintain online.
My big problem now is deployment. Almost everything that I''ve found on
the web regarding deployment (and this includes the instructions for
Switchtower/Ccapistrano) assumes that I have

Deployment: Segregating static files from RHTML
All,
I am deploying on a production system using Apache/fastcgi.
I would like Apache to take care of all of my static files and
dispatch.fcgi to take care of all of my Ruby templates.
In order to achieve this separation, do I need to set up two vhosts in
Apache, one to serve static content and one to serve dynamic content?
Has anyone done this in production and can point me to the right

Proper deployment steps + next steps of learning RoR
I''m new to RoR and going through the tutorials trying to learn as much as
possible. I have actually two questions:
1. What is a proper way to deploy an app into the PROD environment? Here is
what I''m trying to avoid: when writing/testing application (ie. new user
signs ups) on my local machine, I don''t want these users to be deployed
into the PROD environment along

Capistrano/SwitchTower "current" dir deployment question
All,
I have successfully executed the "deploy" task in Capistrano/Switchtower
to establish a symbolic link named "current" which points to the current
version of my app. on my remote server.
My app. was already deployed to the existing Rails root directory (call
it "appname") though.
I have Apache fronting my app. through a virtual host whose doc. root is

Rapid deployment of CentOS on HP Proliant machines
Has anyone successfully deployed CentOS on HP Proliant servers using the Altiris Rapid Deployment (RDP) framework? This works out of the box with RHEL 5.1 but I have not been able to get this to work with CentOS 5.1. If anyone knows of an article on all the details to be able to deploy CentOS to a bare machine Proliant Server, I would appreciate a pointer. I did make the changes to the

ferret / acts_as_ferret multiple server deployment
Has anyone deployed ferret & act_as_ferret to a load balanced multiple
server environment? If so, did you simply use a shared network index?
I have a couple of ideas on how to deploy - but each have shortcomings
and I''m hoping to find out if anyone else has deployed ferret in this
manner. The application is simply load balanced between multiple
servers running the same app for

CTDB Samba Deployment
Hi,
Has anybody deployed a CTDB cluster(http://ctdb.samba.org/) successfully
with multiple nodes serving SMB simultaneously authenticating via Active
Directory(using Winbind)? If yes, can you please share /etc/samba/smb.conf
and /etc/sysconfig/ctdb?
Thanks in Advance,

Deployment syntax error: fine in dev - what's happening?
I''m deploying an app (using Capistrano) to a staging server prior to
final deployment. The app runs fine in dev, but in staging it throws a
syntax error. How can that be?
The error is:

`gem_original_require'':
