Tuning a ZyWALL for Asterisk
I understand this question is over-broad, but hopefully you can have
patience with a newbie and toss me a bone...
I am in the testing stage of deploying Asterisk. I have successfully
configured it to work behind the NAT of my ZyXEL ZyWALL 35 firewall.
However, I think there is a lot of tuning I can do to get better
reliability, bandwidth management, and maybe QoS from the firewall. I

Zyxel, we shoul have them later this week. I'll let you know

Looking for a terminations provider (carrier grade)
We've been using RNK Telecom for terminations for our SIP service, but their
billing is questionable, they've been in breach of contract multiple times,
and when I brought it to their attention, Russ Man, our 'friendly' account
manager told me, and I quote "If you are having that much of a problem..please
find another carrier."
With customer service like that, I've

Looking for business-grade SIP Softphone
Hi,
I am looking for a good (not necessarily free) business-grade SIP Softphone
that supports:
1) G729
2) Outlook contact integration (click on number to dial)
3) Remote provisioning (not a must, but a very nice to have)
4) Customizable skin (again, not a must but a nice to have)
I've seen X-Lite (which has only 2 lines, not enough). The commercial
version of X-Lite looks nice, but

I would have a look at them. My guess is (I explain below why) that you
will see different agents for your multiple connections.

ODG (Objective Difference Grade) scores for Opus Encoder using PQEvalAudio Tool
Hi Rhishi,
PQevalaudio is very unreliable and buggy. I have compared to PEAQ and - as a
result - now I am not using it anymore.

As I have written before, I’ve seen that if broken html5 <audio> players
were used but then amount of connections was gradually increasing.

ODG (Objective Difference Grade) scores for Opus Encoder using PQEvalAudio Tool
Hi,
I checked the ODG (Objective Difference Grade) scores for a few reference vectors using the PQEvalAudio Tool and found that some of them show ODG scores as high as -3.5
If we look at the range as described in the link below, it looks unacceptable.

Am I missing something or are these scores valid?

Professional grade rsync?
Hi, folks.
We've gone where no man has gone before. On HP-UX, rsync bombs at about
1.75 million directories, files and links (combined sum) in a single
transfer.
Is there a professional-grade alternative on HP-UX for folks willing to pay
for it? It wouldn't even need to be network-aware, just from single-system
areas to the same box, but with the nifty delete and update features that

Good Commercial Grade Service Provider?
We currently have an Asterisk system with a PRI and 6 POTs lines for backup.
We are looking to add service such as Voicepulse Connect as an extra level

allows 4 simultaneous calls; we are looking for 4 to 5 times that to support
our call center. Also, in looking through the archives, it seems like VP

The side effect of <audio> is also a bandwidth usage? linear to the amount of "fake" listeners?

A simulation project based Graded Response Model with multiple groups
Hi All,
I am a beginner in R, and I am planning to learn it by finishing a project.
The simulation involves in multiple criteria. Specifically, it is based on
Graded Response Model according to IRT. Also, it needs to generate multiple
datasets which fit different levels of criteria, like multiple groups
(group number=2,3,4,6,9, 12), different sample size for each group (N=250,
500, and 1000),

Graded Response Model Simulation (SAS code conversion)
I have used R a lot in the past, but never for simulation. I have a code in SAS for the Graded Response Model (GRM), also known as Samejima's model. This code simulates an ordinal response, provided item characteristics (A=item discrimination, BB(G) are thresholds between various categorical responses). It is a macro file. I am thinking that I can write this as a function, and call it up

setfsmac and LOMAC aux grades - inconsistent behaviour
A bit of a background: I've been experimenting with LOMAC labels on a
9.1-RELEASE test system. To get the dynamic IP assigned to the machine, I
tried following recipe: set the label for /sbin/dhclient to
lomac/high[low]. This gets the job done, but there were a few problems:
first of all, this label does not seem to persist after a reboot - I have
not yet found a reasonable explanation

Down-grading to an "obsoleted" package
Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a clean way to "downgrade" to the old rpm
package when it was previously replaced by another that obsolete it?
I mean, say that I have installed some rpm "A-1.0-1.x86_64.rpm", and
along comes "B-1.0-1.x86_64.rpm", whose spec has
