dovecot-antispam: Failed to read mail beginning, Next message unexpectedly lost
Hello,
I'm trying to configure the dovecot-antispam plugin.
Now I've run into a problem: whenever I try to move/copy a message
in/from the spam mailbox, Thunderbird (and also Sylpheed, haven't tried
anything else) says:
The current command did not succeed. The mail server responded: Failed
to read mail beginning.
and in the logs I get:

1.1.13 squat core dump
While using 1.1.13 and squat with local pine imap on Solaris 9 I had a
random core dump today. I was doing a search in a maildir folder with
about 2000 emails. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to reproduce it
yet, but I wanted to send along the info anyways.

"select NULL as password..." failing after upgrade to dovecot-1.1
Hi,
I've upgraded mail server to dovecot-1.1, on solaris-10 with mysql user
database.
I used sql query
"SELECT NULL as password, login as user,
concat('/mail/var/dovecot/',login) AS userdb_home, 501 AS userdb_uid,
501 AS userdb_gid FROM users WHERE login='%n' AND
password=old_password('%w')" with dovecot-1.0.15 and it worked perfectly.
But since upgrade

ipportfw - security
Hi
Are there any known security holes or necessary precautions in using port
forwarding with ipportfw?
I'm planning on forwarding ports from an outer firewall/router (connected
to the Internet) to a host in the DMZ, then on from the DMZ host to the
inner firewall, and finally from the inner firewall to some host on the
inside.
Thanks,
Jens

Trying to track down a dovecot issue ....
The error message is:
dovecot: auth-worker: Fatal: master: service(auth-worker): child XXXXX

The setup is dovecot 2.2.29.1 with passwd and mysql auth db's and a very
basic config.
both authentications work ... the symptom is that after a connection

[REPOST] guestfsd core capture, and virt-rescue clean shutdown
This is a repost of a previously posted set. It's been updated following review
comments.
[PATCH 1/4] Add a core_pattern debug command
Added missing return statements.
[PATCH 2/4] Call sync after guestfsd exits
Remove redundant sleep 1; sync
[PATCH 3/4] Shut down the appliance cleanly
[PATCH 4/4] Ignore launch() error in virt-rescue
These were previously 2 patches. They are otherwise

Generate coredumps of the guestfs appliance
[PATCH 1/3] Add a core_pattern debug command
The first patch is just a rework of Rich's earlier core dump patch. It turns it
into a debug subcommand so it can be called at any time. This also has the
advantage of explicitly labelling an extremely untidy API as debug.
[PATCH 2/3] Call sync after guestfsd exits
The second patch seems to be required for cores to be dumped reliably. I was
able to

I'm sorry, there are no core files. :(
Is there something I could do to trigger the creation of core files?
Or anything else

What's /proc/sys/kernel/core_pattern set to for you? For me it is
% cat /proc/sys/kernel/core_pattern
core
which will drop a core file in the working directory of the process.

Hi there,
I've been seeing this for quite a while now, but only today finally got
off my lazy you-know-what and did a backtrace. Here's the requested info
as per http://dovecot.org/bugreport.html:
* Dovecot version
[root at airframe]:~# dovecot --version
1.0.3
* Operating system or Linux distribution name
Slackware 10.2, both kernel 2.6.21.3 and dovecot self-compiled

As in subject, when I try building wine 1.1.13 using Mac OS X 10.5.6 using both the latest developer tools and fink packages (for libjpeg, libpng, libxml2, etc) it gives an error on "make && make depend" with the following message:

Two different issues with dovecot 1.1.13
Hi Timo,
I'm using Debian backports.org dovecot-imapd, 1:1.1.13-2~bpo50+1. I've got
two different issues, a reoccurring, seemingly harmless one about
"Corrupted index cache file" (boring.txt)
and one that went bonkers over the least few days (bt.txt) causing much
spamming of the logs.
I've made bt.txt stop happening by just rm'ing dovecot.index* :

[SOLVED] Re: Feature Request: what about "core stop panic" ?
I think were getting closer:
I did:
- I edited /etc/default/asterisk to include :
AST_USER="root"
AST_GROUP="root"
# systemctl daemon-reload
# systemctl start asterisk
# ps aux | grep asterisk
root 3602 7.1 2.5 60332 26012 ? Ssl 16:00 0:03
/usr/sbin/asterisk -U root -G root -g
# rasterisk
# pkill -SEGV asterisk
Then console showed:

astmanproxy and core dump
Does any one know how to change astmanproxy to be able to
a) compile without optimisations
b) dump a core
I've had it crash several times over the past couple of months, but
there is no way to debug what's going on.
I like the way a core is produced when (if!) * crashes, and would like
to have the same thing on astmanproxy.
Thanks

Some crashes with 1.1.1
I'm getting some cra shes with 1.1.1, but even with these start options:
#!/bin/sh
mkdir /var/core
chmod 1777 /var/core
echo /var/core/%p > /proc/sys/kernel/core_pattern
ulimit -n 65535
ulimit -c unlimited
/usr/local/sbin/dovecot -F
I'm not getting any corefiles - why? It definitely used to work :)
