MAILBOXDIR question
I'm unclear about where and how this is to be used. I gather it is to
be a new standard, but I didn't seem to find anything about it in the
Dovecot Wiki Mail Location page. There are some words about it in the
1.1.12/3 release notes, but perhaps I'm thick, but they're
meta-ambiguous to me.
Is it meant to be used like this:

Hello all.
I try to add Autocreate plugin patch to my FreeBSD host.
I think I make all wrong. Could you tell me how to patch it?

Fallback driver after autodection
Dear developers and dovecot users,
I am running a dovecot with virtual users that have a mailbox using the
Maildir format.
mail_location = maildir:/usr/local/virtual/%d/%n
New mailboxes are created on-the-fly if a new user logs in. I had the
wish that the mailboxes of new users are created using the sdbox format
and old mailboxes remain in Maildir format.
In case the Maildir and sdbox

acl and lazy_expunge plugins are incompatible?
Hello list.
Following two previous unanswered requests
(http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2014-August/097449.html and
http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2014-May/096261.html), I fell into the
same problem: ACL and lazy_expunge plugins do not work together.
I had lazy_expunge enabled working OK. Then I activated ACL plugin, and gave

dovecot 1.2.9 crash on subscribe with shared namespace
Hi all
I'm testing dovecot to migrate from a cyrus 2.2
With TB2 if I use "subscribe" dovecot crash but only if I enable a
shared namespace. Without explicit namespace or only with private
namespace "subscribe" works
Is this a problem already fixed in 1.2.10? is it a problem of my
configuration? I tried different value for location in shared namespace
but without any

I've run into a problem with `doveadm backup` (2.2 rc2 and 20130226)
I did not notice in 2.1.15
doveadm backup [-Dv] -R -u cyrtest1 at iai.uni-bonn.de -m INBOX imapc:
=> crashes (signal 6 with acl plugin configured, sig 11 without acl)
If this is considered a bug (not just because of the crash but in the
meaning of "my configuration should work") it would be great if it could

lazy_expunge plugin and folder subscription trouble
Hello,
I wanted to test the lazy expunge plugin together with mdbox. It seems
to me that the folder subscriptions file in the mdbox directory was
overwritten with only a few folder names every time I added or removed
something in the list of subscribed folders, or even if I turned the
imap folder subscription feature off and on. Here is my setup:

Mailbox Delete
Hi Timo....
I Modify the plugin autocreate, that create and subscribe a mailbox to user.
My modification consist in do the inverse, if my user don't have permission
to create and subscribe a folder, the plugin remove and unsubscribe.
My function is called in the same place that create and subscribe is called,
just seeing if my flag is "create or delete".
My function i copy from

I've recently started seeing the following error show up:

Splitting up mail_location setting?
mail_location setting has started becoming a bit bloaty. I'm not
actually even sure why I've kept adding more parameters to it rather
than just adding new settings. It's also caused confusion, because
people try things like:
mail_location = mbox:/var/mail/%u
mail_location = mbox:INBOX=/var/mail/%u
Although the first one has been giving ok enough error message for a
long time now and
