Dbox Upgrade Problem With MAILBOXDIR
Hi. Trying to upgrade from Dovecot 1.1.11 to 1.1.13 but having a problem with imap process segfaulting. Backtrace is below. I presume it's related to these MAILBOXDIR changes but the only documentation is the single line in the news for changing to ":MAILBOXDIR=mailboxes" when using dbox. Current configuration is "mail_location = dbox:~/Mail" so what exactly should be

Splitting up mail_location setting?
mail_location setting has started becoming a bit bloaty. I'm not actually even sure why I've kept adding more parameters to it rather than just adding new settings. It's also caused confusion, because people try things like: mail_location = mbox:/var/mail/%u mail_location = mbox:INBOX=/var/mail/%u Although the first one has been giving ok enough error message for a long time now and

MAILBOXDIR question
I'm unclear about where and how this is to be used. I gather it is to be a new standard, but I didn't seem to find anything about it in the Dovecot Wiki Mail Location page. There are some words about it in the 1.1.12/3 release notes, but perhaps I'm thick, but they're meta-ambiguous to me. Is it meant to be used like this: mail_location =

1.1.9 release candidate
http://dovecot.org/tmp/dovecot-1.1.9.rc.tar.gz There are a couple of a bit larger changes, so would be nice if a few people tested this on different setups before I released the final v1.1.9. Changes since v1.1.8: + deliver: Added rejection_subject setting, which is used for rejected mails. + pop3: Prevent clients from looping forever trying to fetch an expunged message. + If login

doveadm dsync-server doesn't use user parameter?
I did a debug output of the dsync-server and found out that it queries the userdb parameter but doesn't use it. --- Debug: Loading modules from directory: /usr/lib/dovecot/modules Debug: Module loaded: /usr/lib/dovecot/modules/lib01_acl_plugin.so Debug: Module loaded: /usr/lib/dovecot/modules/lib02_lazy_expunge_plugin.so Debug: Module loaded: /usr/lib/dovecot/modules/lib10_quota_plugin.so

Race condition in IMAP NOTIFY for events received NOTIFY_DELAY_MSECS apart
Hi there, There seem to be a race condition in IMAP NOTIFY: when two events for the SELECTED mailbox are received soon after one another, sometimes only the first one is being reported to clients that enabled IMAP NOTIFY. On closer look it seems like this is most often reproducible when the delay between the two events is NOTIFY_DELAY_MSECS (500ms). This is with 2.3.4.1 from Debian sid. $

Panic when runing "doveadm mailbox status ... vsize"
I'm using dovecot 2.2.24 on FreeBSD 10.3. I'm working on converting users from maildir to mdbox, for the usual reasons. I have converted some test users and they generally work fine. But when I run "doveadm mailbox status" I get a Panic if I ask for the vsize field (or "all"), but other fields work fine. For example: # doveadm mailbox status -u bubbacheex3

Odd ownership of the dovecot-uidlist file
Hi, We have just recently switched from Courier to Dovecot for both IMAAP and POP access for our shared hosting platform, and while the issues we have been seeing with Courier have gone away a new one has popped up. Unfortunately googling for an answer is difficult as it falls into the ownership and permissions category which people seem to have all the time. But in those cases it always

lazy expunge folder delete bug
There's a bug in "folder delete" for lazy expunge, type "1 namespace", as descibed on https://wiki2.dovecot.org/Plugins/Lazyexpunge When trying to delete a mailbox that still has messages in it, but that has no EXPUNGED/<name> counterpart, the process hangs after the imap "DELETE" command, and the following appears in the log file after a 60s timeout: Jun

v1.1.9 released
http://dovecot.org/releases/1.1/dovecot-1.1.9.tar.gz http://dovecot.org/releases/1.1/dovecot-1.1.9.tar.gz.sig Lots of small dbox fixes, hopefully migrations from Maildir are now working correctly. I'm also planning on releasing v1.2.beta1 in a few days. + Sending SIGUSR2 to dovecot-auth now also logs statistics about cache inserts. This could help figuring out auth cache size. +

lazy_expunge mangles dovecot-acl-list
Hi, I think I found a bug in Dovecot 2.1.17 and 2.2.13. In our setup, sometimes ACLs stop working because "dovecot-acl-list" is replaced by an empty file. We found that lazy_expunge is connected to this. To reproduce, create ACLs for "user1" in a folder. Put a mail in that folder and expunge it, so that the folder will be created in the "expunged" namespace.
