trying to add another app
hey all,
I have an app working great with apache2 and mongrel_cluster.
However, I''m trying to run another application and now when I go to
app1.comit falls to
app2.com and the opposite. That''s probably because I messed up somewhere
with the cluster.
this is the content of my conf.d/app1.proxy_cluster.conf:

Multiple rails apps with Mongrel
I''m trying to set up several different Rails apps on the same domain, each
one running Mongrel. After reading all of the documentation, it''s fairly
clear how to use subdomains - create several Apache virtual hosts, each of
which has a different ProxyPass and ProxyPassReverse command to redirect
from different ports (ie, 3000, 3100), and then have each Mongrel instance

my apache 2.2 conf
I just finished updating our internal site, which hosts multiple Rails
apps, to Apache 2.2.3. It also has a TWiki rewritten into the root,
ViewVC mounted on /cvs, and /server-status and /server-info.

[ Rails ] Multiple rails apps on 1 host
Team,
I''m trying to figure out how to run 2 rails apps on one host.
I ran an experiment:
cd /tmp/
rails app1
rails app2
cd app1
script/server
rails put a copy of lighttpd.conf in
/tmp/app1/config/
and then started lighttpd
http://localhost:3000
gave me the splash page.
I shutdown the server
I added something to
/tmp/app1/config/lighttpd.conf
server.modules = (

Problem using "rake db:migrate"
Hi all,
I am facing a problem while using rails "migrate" feature for creating
tables in a database.
Following are the details.
I have 2 applications say "app1" & "app2". I want both of them to use same
database say "testdb".
For "app1", I create 3 models which in turn create 3 migration files with
prefix, 001_, 002_ & 003_. Now I

sshd sending eof to peer instead of SSH_MSG_CHANNEL_CLOSE.
I am using the ssh port forwarding feature. My configuration is as
follows:
On my server machine, running sshd, and app1.
On my client machine, running ssh (client) and app2.
The client connects to the server requesting remote port forwarding from
port X on the server machine to port Y on the client machine.
app2 is listening on port Y on the client machine.
app1 connects to port X

Update for thread: Multiple rails apps with Mongrel
Hi,
I found another way to throw multiple rails apps under a single
domain like:
http://www.domain.com/app1
http://www.domain.com/app2

Lighttpd Conf Help - Multiple Domains Multiple Apps
Hi Guys,
I hope someone can help me out. I am trying to configure two
applications to run on lighttpd and each app will have its own domain.
My machine is running on Fedora. When I run my lighttpd with the
following conf file, I get no error but when I check out my app, it
dishes out a 404 error- the 404 being served isn''t the 404 inside the
railsapp/public folder.
Do hope someone

Question about replacing the web interface with an audio stream
I have had a bunch of issues getting reverse proxy running with apache
properly, the main issue is with YP listings and having icecast list the
revproxy mount at port 80 rather than the icecast one at port 8000.
Unfortunately, I /need/ some sort of http server on port 80 - and I know
apache the best.
That being said, if you know the mounts you want to reverse proxy, its
not an arduous exercise

Apache22+mod_proxy+mongrel+ssl
I am trying to move a Rails application, that uses SSL, from an
Apache/FastCGI stack, that works fine, to Apache22 and mongrel
working with a single mongrel instance (i.e., not mongrel cluster, yet.)
I have a single mongrel instance demonized and working fine on http,
on port 3000. Apache/OpenSSL/certs working fine.
Here is my test http.conf (deliberately kept as simple as possible):

OT(?): ReverseProxy and URLs
This could be OT. If so, just let me know and I apologize in advance.
I mentioned in an earlier email that I have Mongrel setup as a proxy server
behind Apache. Rails applications served by Mongrel do not find the CSS file
and hence no styles are displayed. In fact, many of the actions are not
found. The reason, I believe, is because the URLs for styles and actions
typically follow this pattern:

Puppet 2.7, hiera 1.0 and hiera as an ENC
This is the situation I have:
All my hosts are the* same OS.*
All my host are in the* same puppet environment,* so I cannot use
%{environment}
I have a module that sets all the *basic* functionality for the OS,
resolution, authentication, security, packages, etc
I have a module for each application hosted.
At the moment all the ''data'' is in Puppet, mostly in parametrised

Using mod_xsendfile and x_send_file with Mongrel
Can anyone tell me how to get x_send_file working with mongrel 1.1.1
and apache 2.2? I''ve installed the mod_xsendfile apache module from
http://tn123.ath.cx/mod_xsendfile/ and it works fine serving content
from a PHP script, but I can''t get it to work with my single Mongrel
instance and ProxyPass.
I''m using the following Apache configuration:

Apache reverse proxy authentication problem on RHEL based distribs only
Hi,
I'm currently setting up an Apache SSL reverse proxy for Exchange 2003
Outlook Web Access. The setup that I have works fine on my Gentoo laptop
or on a Trustix server, however, when I try to set it up on an RHEL
based distro, with the exact same virtual host settings, I get some
weird error with the authentication mechanism. I have tried with both

Proxying Apache to Mongrel, not sure if Apache is serving up static files
Let''s try this one...
I have Apache 2.0.55 set up and also have Mongrel set up. I have
Radiant set up running under Mongrel, and have Apache proxying to the
Mongrel instance. That all seems to be working fine.
I thought I''d modify the settings a bit to let Apache serve up the
static files - images, stylesheets, etc. I have it set up, and am not
getting any errors.
However.

Apache2, Mongrel & multiple apps
I''m running Apache 2.0 as a proxy to several Mongrel/Rails apps, so
that all of my Mongrel apps can be routed through the single Apache IP
address.
The problem I''m having is that this setup works well for apps that do
not use the public/index.html file as the main page. For any apps that
do use public/inedx.html as the main page, none of the links off of
index.html work. So no

Help w/ Apache Proxying Mongrel
I''m running Apache 2.0 as a proxy to several Mongrel/Rails apps, so that all
of my Mongrel apps can be routed through the single Apache IP address.
Apache 2.0 is already in use on the system, which is why I haven''t decided
to use Apache 2.2.
The problem I''m having is that this setup only works for Rails apps that do
