cannot mount ''/export'' directory is not empty
Hello,
I am desperate. Today I realized that my OS 108 doesn''t want to boot.
I have no idea what I screwed up. I upgraded on 108 last week without
any problems.
Here is where I''m stuck:
Reading ZFS config: done.

What''s eating my disk space? Missing snapshots?
Please can someone take a look at the attached file which shows the output on my machine of
zfs list -r -t filesystem,snapshot -o space rpool/export/home/matt
The USEDDS figure of ~2GB is what I would expect, and is the same figure reported by the Disk Usage Analyzer. Where is the remaining 13.8GB USEDSNAP figure coming from? If I total up the list of zfs-auto snapshots it adds up to about 4.8GB,

opensolaris crash in vn_rele()
My newly upgraded opensolaris 2008.11 laptop crashed last weekend.
(The OS was installed from the os 2008.11 live-cd and then upgraded
using the package manager to snv_111.)
I was trying to copy a large virtual pc image from my wife''s imac to the
laptop. On a whim I had decided to create a separate zvol in the
root pool to contain the image, figuring I could create a vbox

OpenSolaris Sparc Xen boot problem
I am running OpenSolaris build 134 on a T1000 (Sparc).

Problem w/ b95 + ZFS (version 11) - seeing fair number of errors on multiple machines
Hi,
After upgrading to b95 of OSOL/Indiana, and doing a ZFS upgrade to the newer
revision, all arrays I have using ZFS mirroring are displaying errors. This
started happening immediately after ZFS upgrades. Here is an example:
ormandj at neutron.corenode.com:~$ zpool status
pool: rpool
state: DEGRADED
status: One or more devices has experienced an unrecoverable error. An

Doing ZFS rollback with preserving later created clones/snapshot?
Hi.
Is it possible on Solaris 10 5/09, to rollback to a ZFS snapshot,
WITHOUT destroying later created clones or snapshots?
Example:
--($ ~)-- sudo zfs snapshot rpool/ROOT at 01
--($ ~)-- sudo zfs snapshot rpool/ROOT at 02
--($ ~)-- sudo zfs clone rpool/ROOT at 02 rpool/ROOT-02
--($ ~)-- LC_ALL=C sudo zfs rollback rpool/ROOT at 01
cannot rollback to ''rpool/ROOT at 01'': more

time-sliderd doesn''t remove snapshots
In the last few days my performance has gone to hell. I''m running:
# uname -a
SunOS nissan 5.11 snv_150 i86pc i386 i86pc
(I''ll upgrade as soon as the desktop hang bug is fixed.)
The performance problems seem to be due to excessive I/O on the main
disk/pool.
The only things I''ve changed recently is that I''ve created and destroyed
a snapshot, and I used

Is there a libsmb to make a client / server ?
Hello,
first I would like to tell to the samba developpers that they did a great job!
Samba is very nice!
I currently code a file server compatible with multiple network protocols.
Is there somewhere a libsmb with an API to make easy a Samba client and server?
I would like that my file server is compatible with Windows, it's because I choose Samba.
I need also to add additional operation

ZFS: Log device for rpool (/ root partition) not supported?
Why is it impossible to have a ZFS pool with a log device for the rpool (device used for the root partition)?
Is this a bug?
I can''t boot a ZFS partition / on a zpool which uses also a log device. Maybe its not supported because then grub should support it too?

I did a zpool status -v, everything was hunky dory.
Next, a power failure, 2 hours later, and this is what zpool status

Ringtones won't work
I was hoping that someone may be able to shed some light on some issues I'm
having on trying to get an Asterisk test server up and running. At the
moment I have the basics, two Polycom hard phones (301 & 601 with expansion
unit (which oddly will not power up)) that can call each other, log into
voicemail (one touch) and have custom directories & buddy lists.

libzfs zfs_create() fails on sun4u daily bits (daily.1110)
I encountered a strange libzfs behavior while testing a zone fix and
want to make sure that I found a genuine bug. I''m creating zones whose
zonepaths reside in ZFS datasets (i.e., the parent directories of the
zones'' zonepaths are ZFS datasets). In this scenario, zoneadm(1M)
attempts to create ZFS datasets for zonepaths. zoneadm(1M) has done
this for a long time (since
