Prototype to use QEMU for PV guest framebuffer
As many of us are all too painfully aware we have completely different VNC server implementations for paravirt vs fullyvirt Xen guests. The former based on libvncserver, the latter integrated into QEMU. There are many new and interesting ideas being tried out in the VNC server space in particular wrt to virtualization and having to implement them all twice is not very desirable. Also

Bug#686764: xen: Multiple security issues
Package: xen Dear maintainer, Recently you fixed one or more security problems and as a result you closed this bug. These problems were not serious enough for a Debian Security Advisory, so they are now on my radar for fixing in the following suites through point releases: squeeze (6.0.7) - use target "stable" Please prepare a minimal-changes upload targetting each of these suites,

xl support
Hi folks The current package in unstable is able to use xl. It is still a bit edgy but seems to work. Because the old xm with xend and xl clashs and one should only use one, this needs some more setup to provide a proper upgrade path. I propose the following: - Add a script "xen" that wraps xl and xm depending on the config for use by all the scripts. Most parts are command line

Host does not support virtualization type 'xen'
Hello Community, I successfully installed and run xen (xm list and xm info can output appropriately). However, while I was installing domU image by using virt-install -p at domU OS. I encountered an error information" Host does not support virtualization type ''xen'' ". I built xen from source. Some of my friends have the same issue, but if they use pre-build xen, the

[PATCH v2] Handle xen_platform_pci=0 case
Hi, Here is a little patch that attempt to fix the issue regarding xen_platform_pci=0 not been handled. There is one patch left from the previous version. The patch that was adding qemu_machine_override have been removed as it is unnecessary. If someone wants to change the -machine, it can always add it to device_model_args_hvm, as QEMU appear to use the last one. Regards, Anthony PERARD (1):

Refactor virt-v2v to be more like a 'big script'
These patches combine HVSource and HVTarget into a single Converter. This should make it more obvious where to hack without losing any practical flexibility. GuestOS remains separate. GuestOS is now a misnomer, because it's really only a Linux distro abstraction. It will be useless for Windows, for example. Functions which you'd expect to be different on a non-RH distro should live in

CentOS 7.4 fails to boot as Xen PV guest: resurfaces (now also) with centosplus kernel 693.11.6.el7
Dear all, Maybe I'm the only one - so before filing it as a bug: it appears that the latest set of kernel patches in 3.10.0-693.11.6.el7 makes issue 0013763 "CentOS 7.4 kernel (3.10.0-693*) fails to boot as Xen PV guest" re-surface *also* with the CentOS PLUS kernel. But maybe in a different way ... Thanks to the (great!) quick work on making the plus kernel available (in #14330,

[PATCH] tools: revert to using /var and /etc/
26470:acaf29203cf9 "tools+stubdom: install under /usr/local by default" moved more stuff under /usr/local than was desirable. In particular SYSCONFIG_DIR (configuration for initscripts) moved to /usr/local/etc/{sysconfig,defaults} while the initscripts themselves (correctly) remained in /etc/init.d. Moving /etc/xen/scripts breaks the udev bakcned rules file. Lastly stuff under /var was
