ssl breaks rails app
I''m a newbie both with rails and configuring a server so I appreciate
any help available.
I developed my rails app and deployed it successfully on apache using cgi.
Next I successfully configured mod_ssl for apache. I point my browser
to https://myserver and VIOLA , I see the index page in
../myapp/public/index.html .
But when I try to get to one of the controllers, the routing seems

NOT FOUND error
I''ve been hunting the web and reading the mailing lists all day but
I''m not finding any guidance on this problem. When I try to talk to my
mongrel it simply responds with NOT FOUND and nothing else. I can''t
find anything on google because this has to be the second most commond
phrase in existence.
Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Chuck Vose

Apache22+mod_proxy+mongrel+ssl
I am trying to move a Rails application, that uses SSL, from an
Apache/FastCGI stack, that works fine, to Apache22 and mongrel
working with a single mongrel instance (i.e., not mongrel cluster, yet.)
I have a single mongrel instance demonized and working fine on http,
on port 3000. Apache/OpenSSL/certs working fine.
Here is my test http.conf (deliberately kept as simple as possible):

mongrel cluster (+ Apache 2.2.4 + proxy balancer) not redirecting correctly
I''m in the process of setting up a mongrel cluster at the moment, and I''m
running into a bit of an issue. Even worse is that I''m not sure whether
this is a mongrel thing, or an Apache thing. While I''m inclined to think
that this might be a balancer thing, I decided there was a higher chance
hearing back from mongrel-users than from apache-users, so I''d

ssl_requirement problems - https --> http
I am having problems with the SSL Requirement plugin.
It redirects to HTTPS no problem.
Problem is when I want it to leave HTTPS it stays!
Have put the following in apache ssl config:

ServerName codegarden.co.uk:443
ProxyPass / http://localhost:4003/
ProxyPassReverse / http://localhost:4003/
ProxyPreserveHost On

X_FORWARDED_PROTO issues
Hi all -
I''m having some behavior that i can''t track down and I''m not sure if
this is an Apache problem, a mongrel problem or neither.
Anyway - in my production setting I have two Apache 2.2 proxy servers
pointing to two servers running mongrel instances.
In my SSL.conf file I have this:
RequestHeader set X_FORWARDED_PROTO ''https''
It seems that if

Updates the installer to handle the scenario in which the guest and
admin networks are the same by using an alternative httpd conf.
Verified to work (eg oVirt managed vms are bootable) on the

I am configuring apache 2.2 to serve my rails app through mongrel at

multiple puppet masters
Hi,
I would like to set up an additional puppet master but have the CA server
handled by only 1 puppet master. I have set this up as per the
documentation here:
http://docs.puppetlabs.com/guides/scaling_multiple_masters.html
I have configured my second puppet master as follows:
[main]

ca = false
ca_server = puppet-master1.test.net
I am using passenger so I am a bit confused how the

Using puppet with Apache mod_disk_cache and passenger over SSL
I have tried to setup Apache with passenger to host the puppetmaster but I
also want to cache. I have no problems running puppet within Passenger with
httpd. I also enabled mod_disk_cache within Apache. However, I still see my
puppet client htting the puppetmaster and the puppetmaster compiles the
manifest every time. In /var/cache/mod_cache, I can see that the data was
properly cached.

Problem getting Rails to emit the correct (proxy) domain in route urls
Behind the scenes my app runs like this:
http://myapp.mydomain.com/myapp and
and
https://myapp.mydomain.com/myapp
are Apache 2.2 virtual hosts proxy-balanced to a mongrel cluster
on the same machine.
But I need to make these available here:

selinux denial of cgi script with httpd using ssl
Everyone,
I am trying to use a cgi perl script for a CentOs 7 website that works
fine with selinux in permissive mode but fails with selinux in enforcing
mode.
The problem I have is that I can not find where the selinux error
message is being recorded.
It does not appear to be in the /var/log/messages
or /var/log/audit/audit.log. I do not get
any /var/log/httpd/ssl_error_log entries. I do get

Puppet / Passenger SSL Problems with DRBD
I am working on setting up a Puppet configuration where some of the
data is stored on a DRBD volume. The modules and vardir are stored on
the drbd volume. The puppet.conf files point to the drbd volume for
vardir. I created a cert for a VIP puppet-master using the puppetca --
create command
I had everything working on the primary drbd node, but when I fail
over, everything starts up fine, but I

Apache 2.2, ProxyPass and HTTPS
Hi all,
I''m currently trying to get Mongrel running my app whilst fronted by
apache 2.2 in a sub-directory via https. A bit convoluted I''ll grant
you but necessitated by existing systems.
The pertinent parts of my httpd.conf:

DocumentRoot /var/www/admin
ServerName admin.example.com:12345
