The proper ADMX for your version of Windows are on Windows itself in C:\windows\PolicyDefinitions. You just copy the content of the directory (and subdirs) to your Sysvol share \Policies\PolicyDefinitions - Kees. > > Cheers, > Torsten

samba-tool gpo admxload loads into the wrong server
Hi! Thank you botho for your answers! I ran into some problems with the FSMO migration caused by the "kdc default domain supported enctypes" and "kdc supported enctypes" so after correcting that and verifying that DC2 was working again I shut down DC1 just to make sure that the domain was working correctly again. During this downtime I tried installing the admx templates again

Hi! I had a samba 4.10.8 (DC1) AD DC which was holding all the FSMO roles and a samba 4.18.9 (DC2) AD DC with one way sysvol replication using rsync from DC1 to DC2. Since I'm trying to get the admx files for group policy editor into de DC I succesfully transfered the FSMO roles from DC1 to DC2 with "samba-tool fsmo transfer role=all -U SAMDOM\\Administrator" which I can confirm

Group Policy Settings Missing/Not Applying
Hi, Im attempting to apply a few group policy settings but they dont seem to be applying on the machine in question, or some settings I cannot see in the GPME. 1. Settings applied to openssh dont seem to create the required config files in /etc/ssh/sshd_config.d/ for ssh to actually pick up on these changes. Is there a different location its applying these to that I can verify with? Below is

Windows 10 administrative templates /central store with Samba
Viktor, thanks again! Now that I did this (added the Win10 1511 ADMX files to the central store), I probably will have to recreate the policies that will be applied to Win10 machines, right? GPO Entries missing
Hi all I just installed the the ADMX-fils for the Linux-GPOs. IBut when I look at the Group Policy Editor below "samba" I only see "Unix Setting -> Scripts". "smb.conf", "Messages", "sudo-files" are missing. If I take a look at the admx-file itself all the options are in the file. I uses Sernet Samba 4.18.4 on Debian 12 I already did a

I have already added a Win10 machine to a domain, where only Win7 clients were joined before that. I have managed this domain from Win7 only, so far. Therefore I believe that e.g. the Windows Update policy is not fit for

transfer interrupted (code 3) at flist.c(812)
Ok, I just setup the log file and this is what I see there: rsync on cdrive/Temp/pix.log from admx (141.214.137.139) transfer interrupted (code 3) at flist.c(812) I had to change [cdrive] from path = "c:\" to path = c: to get rid of '@ERROR: chdir failed' error. I am getting close but still need some help. Thanks in advance. Nishi > -----Original Message----- From:

Hello, This is my third posting in a day ! Many thanks to Tim Conway for responding to my first one. However, since I am hard pressed against time, I have been trying everything from the docs to get it to work but looks like, I might take forever unless some expert help comes in. So please, help if you can. Thanks. I am trying to copy a file from testor/source to admx/destination. Here is the

Here is a newbie question. Hope, you will not mind. I am trying to backup a file from my NT machine onto AIX machine. Here is the setup: NT machine (testor): rsync is in c:\Rsync\rsync.exe and is running as a daemon. (I created a service for Rsync first). AIX machine (admx): rsync -v rsync version 2.3.1 Copyright Andrew Tridgell and Paul Mackerras admx::nkapoor> telnet testor 873 Trying...

samba4 admx centrally stored
If i wanted to add admx file (chrome) to samba4 instead of installing it on every W10 machine managing the AD, where would i put the file. from quick search https://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2016-January/197298.html it says to place it in PolicyDefinitions in sysvol, but i do not have that folder there. Does it need to be created ? Thanks -- View this message in context:
