Er no, you have one really big problem, Samba 4.6.x went EOL (from the
Samba point of view) nearly six years ago.

Users appears as SID instead of their own name.
Hello Rowland.
You're right. I have to upgrade my current version. But I have tried to
do it with same server and with a new one without success.
For first trial I tried to compile new version but it doesn't.
For the second one I've tried to add a DC to the domain to, after this,
move AD primary role to new one, but another time no success.
I tried to contact some spanish company

Helo Rowland
Thanks for your response.
I'm using Centos7 as AD server.
At this time I'm trying to compile another server with Ubuntu 22.04 and
Samba 4.20.1. I'm thinking to merge it as an AD on current domain.
If this runs I'll try to move FSMO from old to new.
Finally I'll demote old one.
Hope this will run and solve the issue.
Regarding support, I checked samba.org page

Issues joining DC
Dear all.
Let me make a shot brief of the issue I'm currently experiencing that
has been published in a couple of threads. Now I'm going to join them here.
Current scenario.
Centos7 running a Samba 4.6.5. Any kind of problem at client side, all
seems to runs fine. But in some cases the AD objects appears on Windows
clients as their SID instead of their name.

Users appears as SID instead of their own name.
Helo Rowland.
I think I won't be able to thank you enough for everything you are doing
for me.
I've tried and seems to run fine. But finally it throws an error and
performs a rollback for all changes on AD.

Migrate
Dear all.
I currently have a Centos7 box running Samba 4.6.5. I would like to
increase functional level to latest one. For this reason I created
another box (Ubuntu 22.04) with 4.18.9.
The plan was to define Ubuntu box as an additional AD server. Once have
replica of the AD, move FSMO from Centos to Ubuntu, demote the Centos
server and finally increase functional level.
On Ubuntu, checked

converting a data set to a format for time series analysis
I currently have a data set describing human subjects enrolled into an
international clinical trial, the name of the hospital enrolling this
human subject, the date when the subject was enrolled, and a vector
with variables representing characteristics of the site (e.g., number
of beds in a hospital). my data sets looks like this:

Different ways/commands to join an AD domain
Hi List
I'm a bit puzzled about the different ways to join a W2012R2 D domain, as there are multiple ways of doing that, and I'm not sure which is the right or best one.
Background: we have different OS (Centos 5/6, Debian 8/9) which are or will be integraded into the AD.
using "realm join ubxad.u-blox.net" (Debian 8/9)
i could join the domain but got

BDC & passwd changes
Hello
I have a network setup with one Samba PDC and two Samba BDCs separated by routers (ref http://www.cybersource.com.au/users/mikef/samba/). In this test environment the Samba servers all use the master OpenLDAP server on the PDC, but the production system will have OpenLDAP servers (using master-slave replication) on all Samba servers.
I can't get the Windows XP client to change a

Unable to join samba4 to AD as a DC
Hello,
I'm trying to get samba4 up and running as a DC in a lab environment.
I have a freshly installed AD environment (W2012R2 servers, W2008R2
functional level) and I'm trying to join samba4 to it as a domain
controller.
When I try, I get this:
# samba-tool domain join ad.netdirect.ca DC -Uadministrator

Error on PTR DNS?
Dear all.
I'm creating a new domain using Debian12 and samba 4.20.2.
I've created 2 DC and one FS.
Checking DNS I can see PTR records for DC servers are wrong (on DNS is
recorded 2 and 3 PTR records instead of 242 and 243 that are last IP
numbers in IPv4 address DCs) and for FS does not exists.
The first one seems to be a bug on DNS record generation. The second one
seems to be that I

[GSOC 2018] Information gathering
Hello,
I'm Paul Semel, a French student in computer science. I am currently in
my 4th year (1st year of graduate school) at EPITA and enrolled in the
system and security laboratory of the school.
I would be very interested in working on a LLVM project during this
GSoC. Implementing a PoC for an unsequenced modification checker in CSA
helped me discover LLVM. However, I would like to

Error in contrasts message when using logistic regression code.
I have a rather large data set (about 30 predictor variables)
I need to preform a logistic regression on this data. My response variable
is binary.
My code looks like this:
mylogit <- glm(Enrolled ~ A + B + C + ... + EE, data = data, family =
binomial(link="logit"))
with A,B,C, ... as my predictor variables. Some categorical, some
continuous, some binary.
I run the code and get
