writeForeignSAS and potential extensions
Dear R-devel,
I've made some potential extensions to writeForeignSAS
in 'foreign' that I wanted to pass along if anyone is
interested. I've attached the diff -u output against
the version found in foreign_0.8-15 and an .R file
with my changes. (In this .R file, the function is named
writeForeignSAS7 to simplify testing/comparisons.)
I've tried to alter the current

Problem exporting data using write.foreign
My question is about the write.foreign() command in the foreign
package. I use a command like the following to try and output data
and a code file to read my data into SAS.
write.foreign(data.frame.object, datafile="filepath",
codefile="filepath", package="SAS", dataname="myData")
With my data set, it gives the following error:

Problems importing Unix SAS .ssd04 file to R (Win)
Hello,
I'm trying to import a SAS file made using SAS on Unix. Currently I'm
using SAS on Windows and I'm trying to import that .ssd04 file to R.
The file name of the file is testfile.ssd04 and it is located in
'M:\sasuser'. I'm using Windows XP and R 2.91. Basically what I'm
doing is

read.ssd() from foreign package
Hi, I am encountering a confusing problem when I tried to use read.ssd to read
SAS datasets. For one SAS dataset "a.sas7bdat", it did not work; while for
another SAS dataset "b.sas7bdat" it worked:
> tmp<-read.ssd("C:\\SASdata", "a",sascmd="C:/Program
>Files/SAS/SASFoundation/9.2/sas.exe")
SAS failed. SAS program at

Stepwise selection and F-enter anf F-remove values
Hello,
I'm actually using the "Step" procedure in R for multiple regression analysis.
I'm using the stepwise selection which alternates between forward selection
and backward elimination (direction "both" in the step procedure).
I would like to know which F-levels R is using to enter and then to remove
variables?
I also would like which is the procedure to change

foreign:::writeForeignSAS patch not released?
Hello,
In May 2018 there was some R-devel discussion about a bug in
foreign:::writeForeignSAS. See here:
https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-devel/2018-May/076220.html
and it resulted in a patch. See:
https://bugs.r-project.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=17256
And I see the changes in Subversion here:
https://svn.r-project.org/R-packages/trunk/foreign/R/writeForeignSAS.R

Need help on * anf HFC.
Hi, I'm a newbie on * trying to setup an HFC card.
I'm locked for many days getting the all-circuits-busy. And no idea what
else to look for/how to diagnose.
I'm in Spain, I've tried changing many parameters on zapata/zaptelcong
with no luck, also NT & TE modes (honsetly, I've no idea what is).
Any clue will be very much appreciated!

Bug report in foreign library (PR#13425)
here appears to be a bug in the foreign library. The following code used to
work, but now generates an error when 'package="SAS"' is specified:
ds <- read.csv("http://www.math.smith.edu/sasr/datasets/help.csv")
# running foreign package version 0.8-30
library(foreign)
# this works fine

contourplot label color
Hi everyone,
I am new to the list.
My problem is to change the color of the label in a contour plot. The
plot is quite dark and I'd like to have the line and label white, it
works for the line with a simple "col", but for the labels I need to
pass throught a panel call and :

How can you buy R?
Hi all,
This may seem like a dumb question, but I work for an entity that is soon
converting to XP across the board, and I will lose the ability to install
software on my own. The entity has a policy of only using software that has
been purchased and "properly licensed" (whatever that means).
This means I will soon lose the ability to use R at work - something I can't
do without

Problem with foreign package
I tried to use write.foreign() to export to SAS this morning and got an
error.
When I looked at the code for writeForeignSAS() I saw this line:
dfn < -df
which I think should be
dfn <- df
So, I tried to run update.packages() to see if there was an updated
version and got the following result.
> update.packages(c("foreign"))

glmm for binomial data? (OT)
A while ago (April 2002) there was a short thread on software for generalized
linear mixed models.
Since that time, has anyone written or found R code to use a glmm to analyze
binomial data? I study CWD in white-tailed deer, and I'd like to do a
similar analysis as Kleinschmidt et al. (2001, Am. J. Epidemiology 153:
1213-1221) used to assess control for spatial structure in malaria
