Diff between using "-i" and not using "-i"
It appears that xattr changes (that is what the x mens) never made it into the verbose output. I would call that a bug but I would rather it be fixed by making -v include -i. hardlinking and -R (multiple source directories)
Hi, hardlinking (-H) works perfectly while using a syntax like -avhxSDH <SRC> <DEST> Now I have to mirror multiple SRC directories which contain hardlinks. e. g: src1/a is a hardlink to src2/b -RavhxSDH SRC1 SRC2 DEST does not preserve hardlink a and b in DEST. Is there any chance to do that? Thanks lopiuh -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...

symlink in -R src_dirlist and real dirs on target
Hi folks, I have a bunch of directories to mirror via rsync. I have lots of hardlinked files spread about these directories. Therfore I use -R (--relative) and -H. so far ok but: I create symlinks to the source-directories via script because src-dirs have changing names (date and time of backup) and I want to have constant directory names on target. How can I achieve that? I thought -k

hardlinking and -R (multiple source directories)
Hi, now it's time to come back to this topic. As supposed, the missing hardlinks where no issue of rsync. I am not sure if pairing aufs (http://aufs.sourceforge.net/) and rsync -RH will catch each and every hardlink compared to a single filesystem, but it seems to work very reliable. I tried mhdfs and aufs. Aufs is faster and very stable (I am on wheezy kernel 3.2). So at last I have my

rsync 3.0.9 partial file left after CTRL-C WITHOUT using --partial
Hi Justin No i did a test setup after getting to it in real life. In this test setup: - rsync (daemonless) is run - ctrl-c, - results are checked, - dest directory is deleted and so on. in 50 % the file is left over. i can reproduce it on a big fat slow (relative to a small ext4 partition on same lvm) xfs-partition. If i do this on root I even if I manage tp ctrl-c at the right time, I

updating multiple records with form
I have an app that has two models -- products and details. I''m building a form that allows a user to create a new product and specify a description, etc. The form needs to allow for creation of multiple items in the details model/table. for example, I have a block of form items that collect info for the men''s version of the product -- inventory count for each size, etc. And

NSD compressing RP content
Hello, while investigating a report from Jan-Piet Mens (resulting in http://wiki.powerdns.com/trac/changeset/3109), we discovered that NSD (both 3.2.15 and 4.0.0b4) compresses labels in RP content. As far as I can see, this is not allowed by RFC3597 section 4 paragraph 1/2. PowerDNS Recursor, like Unbound and BIND, now deals with this as 3597 section 4 paragraph 4 says we SHOULD. Nevertheless,

diff.default / diff.ts in wrong package bug (PR#640)
{all recent versions of R} Problem / design bug : diff.default() doesn't deal with "ts" objects properly, diff.ts() does, but that is only available from package "ts" where as the constructor function ts() is in base. It's not sufficient to just move diff.ts() to package base, since it relies itself on lag & lag.default which are also only in package ts.

The patch write-devices.diff (rw-devices.diff) fix
Hello, I faced the problem of synchronization block devices and found the patch write-devices.diff by Darryl Dixon, that went trough this mailing list http://lists.samba.org/archive/rsync/2009-October/024037.html Unfortunately the patch was one flaw for me. It doesn't improve performance of synchronization. When I tried to test it using something like: ./rsync

diff (to html) for Rails?
Hi, I am looking for a way to compare to pieces of text, and mark up the differences with html. Basically the way Basecamp Writeboards do it. I was wondering whether this is available as a plugin (my initial search didn''t turn up anything). Ingo Weiss -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Doing and storing a Writeboard like diff in RoR
Hello all, Anyone have any suggestions on how I could do and display a diffed piece of text in a style similar to Writeboard (strikeouts etc.) Q1) Are there any ruby gems for diff? Q2) How would I represent the diffed text in styled HTML? If there are existing tools, any ideas on how I could write this? Thanks, Vaishal -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
