Problem setting up VNC on SLES10 HVM DomU
I''ve just uneventfully installed SLES10 as an HVM DomU (after finding out, the hard way, that OpenSUSE 10.3 won''t install on Intel VT). This almost went without a hitch, but I''ve been banging my head against a brick wall for a few hours trying to get VNC working. I can get a remote desktop, but a few seconds after I log in to the remote desktop, the screen goes

CentOS4 Loop at shutdown
Has anyone else encountered a loop and failure to shutdown on CentOS4? This has occurred twice in the past month, but unfortunately I failed to write down the looping messages. The only relevant problems I found via Google reference raid controllers, and I have POI (plain ol' IDE). Doh! Obviously I wuill need to record the errors. My environment is run-level 5 with GDM, but I use IceWm

where to report modesetting DDX bug?
Video and input drivers Subgroups and projects on gitlab does not list modesetting DDX, presumably because it's not packaged separately from the server. Where's the right place to report a modesetting DDX bug that manifests only on an NVidia GPU? Directly against the server https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver? Here are some particulars: How can I tell whether this should be

desktop hanging
Not sure if this is the correct forum for this question / issue so please feel free to redirect me to an appropriate list. My driver and graphics card information is below. This configuration has been working great (much better than the nvidia proprietary driver) until I upgraded from kernel 5.0 to 5.3. The desktop keeps hanging every few minutes (the mouse usually keeps working but windows,

VNC & GDM & runlevel 3
Has anybody been able to get this to work ? I have been trying multiple options until now but all give me the empty crappy desktop with black cross display... I have tried changing the server_args in the xinetd config, but that makes a connection and exits straigt away... On 1 box it works in runlevel 5, but that is obvious (IMHO)... My Config: /etc/services vnc800 5900/tcp

VNC question
We have run into the infamous black screen problem with tigervnc under CentOS7, which prompted me to look into how vnc is configured here. https://access.redhat.com/solutions/966063 Am I reading this correctly - root needs to set up a systemd vnc service for every user and display individually? Compared to e.g. CentOS before 7, or indeed any other Linux/Unix system where vnc is completely under

zpool kernel panics.
Hi Folks, I''ve got a 3.9 Tb zpool, and it is casing kernel panics on my Solaris 10 280r (SPARC) server. The message I get on panic is this: panic[cpu1]/thread=2a100a95cc0: zfs: freeing free segment (offset=423713792 size=1024) This seems to come about when the zpool is being used or being scrubbed - about twice a day at the moment. After the reboot, the scrub seems to have
