Macs deleting files off RHEL8 server
These are a combination of "temp" and "real" files. The user is deleting/moving PDFs, InDesign and image files. I'm presuming hidden files are also getting deleted when the real files are. The filesystem has been solid (XFS) up until the switch to SMB. From: itdept_head <itdept_head at grown-up.com> To: Cc: "samba at lists.samba.org" <samba at

File handling
Hi There, I am trying to do the following using puppet 1. Create a dir call mydir 2. Download a file from internet using Exec 3. Change the mode of the file 3. Install it and ensure running and service is enabled. 4. Delete it the installer file. When I do this until 3 rd step I am fine. But when I create the file resource again for deleting the installer files, it says it is already

Problem with dc-nics 10,11
Hi, I have a little problem with dc10, dc11. I use three quad dc cards, so far from dc0 up to dc8 with no problems. All (dc0 to dc11) are displayed correctly with pciconf and with ifconfig. The trouble is with dc10 and dc11 that they don't send any data out and also don't react to arp requests etc. - at least using tcpdump won't show anything coming in or going out. Monitoring from

Paired Weighted Wilcoxon test in R
Hi DC9, As no one has answered, I would say that as both the survey package and Professor Lumley are widely respected, that is as good as it gets. Paired Weighted Wilcoxon test in R
Dear R-users, I?m trying to perform a non-parametric statistical pairwise comparison of two samples "x" and "y" using the Wilcoxon test in R, but each of the pairs have a weight associated. An example of my data is the following one: set.seed(9) x <- sample(x = c(1:100), size = 20, replace = TRUE) y <- sample(x = c(1:100), size = 20, replace = TRUE) weight <-

Proposal of talk about Xen at the Libre Software Meeting 2005
Hello, (I''ve tried several times to contact Xen developers through the xen-admin e-mail or directly Ian Clark with no answer as of today. As we are really interested in Xen, I post this call on a list that has a broader audience. Please Cc: me the answers because I''m not on the list. Thanks.) Since the year 2000, the Free Software Community in France has been organizing the

Resilience inquiry: What happens to samba clients if a domain controller fails?
Hello folks, I have been asked about the resilience of samba clients when faced with a domain controller failure. My client's environment has multiple Windows Domain Controllers (we'll call them dc1 - dc9). Assuming that domain replication operates as expected (and does, from Windows workstation point of view), what should I expect if (when) the domain controller that initiated a
