I wrote a message a couple of days ago asking about Samba and SMB protocol levels on an old industrial robot with a pre-2010 Samba. That was resolved successfully. I now have another question concerning the same systems (the robots and the new Samba server, HP-SRV03). root at hp-srv03:/ *smbclient -L localhost -U administrator* Enter HPLTS\administrator's password: Sharename Type

Need help with roaming profiles
I have a problem that I am unable to sort out. Maybe someone can assist with advice and troubleshooting. Client computer is Windows 10 Pro with latest updates as of today. Servers are a Windows 2019 Standard (logon and AD server) and a Samba 4.11 running on Ubuntu (domain member. AD account configured with account profile \\hp-fssrv\profiles\<username>. Home directory is mapped to

File timestamp issue
I am not convinced that it's a Samba issue, but someone might be able to answer anyway We replicate directories and files from a Windows 2019 server to two destinations, both are supposed to be used in case of a disaster, but are also used for some specific tasks. One of the replication targets is a physical Windows 2012 server and the other one an Ubuntu/Samba virtual machine. The Samba VM

Problem with libsmbclient notify
Hello, I'm trying to use the "notify" API of libsmbclient, testing against a Samba AD DC. The function is returning with errno=22 (mapped from NT_STATUS_REVISION_MISMATCH), and I'm getting the following error message: smb1cli_req_writev_submit: called for dialect[SMB3_11] server[dc1.example.com] It looks like libsmbclient is, for some reason, using SMB1 but needs to be

Wrong size on a domU partition
Hi. I need more space on my domU server, so i create a file image to attach it to the domU. But when i load that image in the domU, show a size very different to the create. I create the file with this command dd if=/dev/zero of=/xen/domains/SRV03/opt-disk.img bs=1024k seek=30720 count=30720 (The idea is create an image disk with 30GB, but when i check the disk on the domU show 64GB.)

smbclient -L returns NT_STATUS_REVISION_MISMATCH
Hi all, Sorry for this question which has certainely already been answered, but I could not find info in the list nor in the wiki. From my Debian laptop running testing (samba 4.9.5) and with an empty smb.conf (I wanted to be sure that only default values are used), I can not browse shares of a Windows 10 machine (sorry, Thunderbird splits some lines): smbclient -L 192.168.122.200 Unable to

Shanks for the hint! Very strange that the default is only to use a deprecated protocol… Anyway, this option has no effect on this issue… Yvan Le 31/05/2019 à 18:53, Kris Lou via samba a écrit : > Most likely, your Windows 10 (file server) is disallowing SMB1 connections, > which is the default for smbclient. > > You can force smbclient to use a higher protocol with "smbclient

Shared printing between Linux (client) and Windows (server): NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
Thank you for answer. Logged in as Guest, then went to Security tab. I see `Everyone', it is given all permissions. Then I went to `Current permissions' tab (I have localized OS at the moment, so probably it is not correct name) and typed in `Everyone' and `Guest' as well: all five permission types are checked. $ smbclient -L 192.168.0.100 -m SMB2     Sharename

Cannot Find Windows Shared Printer
I am running CentOS 7 with Samba version 4.9.1. I have a Windows shared printer that I cannot set up but I am not sure if this is a CentOS issue or a Samba issue. When I run the printer setup GUI, it is not able to find any shared printer. If I run smbclient I get this error: smbclient -L dap001 -N Unable to initialize messaging context Anonymous login successful ??????????????

Unable to contact active directory or verify claim types
I am running several Solaris 11 file servers with samba 4.7.6. This is an AD domain but the domain controllers are Win 2008 R2 and Windows 2012 R2. All users and groups in AD have unix uidNumbers and gidNumbers assigned. On one file server, I am having problems where some users can not access files , via windows, to which they should have access as the group member. For example,

Hi all I have setup a Samba server for a client, and most things work fine (except a strange problem with some clients and SMB1). However, when I created the virtual server before migrating it to the client, I obviously forgot to change a parameter. Windows 7 logon problems
I have a client with 10+ Windows 10/32-bit clients and 3 Windows 7/32-bit. I converted them today to Samba 4.12, and after some fixes, I now have working shares and roaming profiles for the Win 10 clients. However, the Win7 clients dont get the shares mapped at logon properly (at all). I tried to run the netlogon script manually from Windows/Sysvol/sysvol/<domain>/scripts after mounting the
