httpd/sites-available directory
The goal is to have access to a specific virtual host on port 80, to be
routed to port 443. Any other port 80 access is left as is.
So let us assume a server foo.bar.com and the specific virtual host is
webmail.bar.com
So I have tried:
<VirtualHost *:80>
ServerName webmail.bar.com
ServerAlias webmail
RewriteEngine On
ReWriteCond %{HTTP_HOST}

Strrange behavior of VirtualHosts in Apache (CentOS6)
Hello,
there is a short explanation about virtual hosts in Apache ...
https://wiki.centos.org/TipsAndTricks/ApacheVhostDefault
the `hostname` gives a different donmain name than what should be hosted ...
e.g. `hostname` is host.example.org and the domain to be hosted is
example.com, so I did this:
<VirtualHost 1.2.3.4:80>
ServerName host.example.org
DocumentRoot /var/www/default

haproxy + Apache + virtual hosts -> wrong host is displayed
Hello,
I hope my question is not off-topic here.
On CentOS 7.2.1511 I have installed:
haproxy-1.5.14-3.el7.x86_64
httpd-2.4.6-40.el7.centos.1.x86_64
The /etc/haproxy/haproxy.cfg binds HAProxy to
ports 80 and 443 and accepts HTTPS to slova.de:

[PATCH server] oVirt server single network installer
Updates the installer to handle the scenario in which the guest and
admin networks are the same by using an alternative httpd conf.
Verified to work (eg oVirt managed vms are bootable) on the
oVirt appliance so far.

tabs ignored in here document
I thought this worked. Many web pages tell you it works. But bash is
ignoring tabs in my here docs. Worst, where there are two tabs, it is
functioning as a command expand in bash, where all files in the current
directory are listed to complete the command.
The following is the here doc I am using. Most likely the tabs will be
converted to spaces in this email. But the bottom line is,

mongrel cluster (+ Apache 2.2.4 + proxy balancer) not redirecting correctly
I''m in the process of setting up a mongrel cluster at the moment, and I''m
running into a bit of an issue. Even worse is that I''m not sure whether
this is a mongrel thing, or an Apache thing. While I''m inclined to think
that this might be a balancer thing, I decided there was a higher chance
hearing back from mongrel-users than from apache-users, so I''d

mod_proxy, mongrel, redirect issue
Hello,
I am configuring apache 2.2 to serve my rails app through mongrel at
the root of my server. First, I redirect all http traffic to https
with the following:
ServerName emiliano
NameVirtualHost *:80
<VirtualHost *:80>
RedirectPermanent / https://emiliano #this server is only accessed internally
</VirtualHost>
Inside the <VirtualHost *:443> section, I have the following

NetworkManager, multiple IPs, and selinux...
Hello,
I was wondering if any one has seen issues with selinux name_bind denials
that result from having IP:PORT bindings for services to specific IP
addresses managed on an interface under NetworkManager's control?
I do realize that people will probably say stop using NetworkManager, and I
may, but the behavior is strange, and I'd like to have a better
understanding of what's going

problem with mongrel/apache2.2.3 and subdomain setup
Hi all
I got a vps setup amazingly fast using the deprec recipes on Ubuntu
edgy, but now I''m having a minor issue where my site loads for the
main domain when I only want it accessible from the subdomain. This
is a pretty typical setup, apache 2.2.3 -> mongrel_proxy_balancer ->
mongrel cluster. I''m sure I''m missing something obvious in the
config...
I have the

webserver setup
Hi,
I have setup a webserver on CentOS 4.5 with NameVirtualHost.
Two VirtualHost should be reachable by port 80 from outside, while the
third (default) should be only reachable by https from outside but by
http from inside.
Since all share the same IP firewalling seems to be out of question. So
is there a way to restrict that in Apache config?

httpd/sites-available directory
I just received some advice from a colleague of a colleague over at
openssl.org. But they use debian. Please look at this and help me out
on how Centos7 handles this:
Note the comment of the location of virtualhost config files. Centos7
does not have a "man a2ensite".
thanks

really tell me why it gets applied

Apache22+mod_proxy+mongrel+ssl
I am trying to move a Rails application, that uses SSL, from an
Apache/FastCGI stack, that works fine, to Apache22 and mongrel
working with a single mongrel instance (i.e., not mongrel cluster, yet.)
I have a single mongrel instance demonized and working fine on http,
on port 3000. Apache/OpenSSL/certs working fine.
Here is my test http.conf (deliberately kept as simple as possible):

"error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(150)" revisited
I browsed the web and the archive, and apart from someone asking whether
anyone else had rsync problems after installing OpenSSH 3.4, I came up
empty.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to debug this? I've got over
50 GB to keep in sync, and don't know of another elegant way to do it.

source system = bb:

apache redirection
Hello everyone,
Part of our website has secured access with an SSL certificate. The
problem we are running into is that the certificate is for
www.domainname.com, so when they go to domainname.com (without the
www. in front), the users are getting a "This connection is untrusted"
warning, because the url doesn't match the certificate.
I found one site that said to make a change to

ssl and NameVirtualHost
I recently aquired a Verisign SSL certificate for my web server on
Centos 4, with apache 2.0.59 from centosplus.
It however doesn't seem to be working the way I've set it up,
browsers connect but are told the certiticate is not recognized.
Showing more info, the information looks correct.
I think it has probably to do with the fact that I'm using the
certificate on a virtual

SVN and Rails problem
Hi guys,
I''ve finally managed to get my server up and running with
mongrel_cluster and all that jazz. My rails app works fine, but when I
try to access my svn repos as I was doing before everything was setup
rail is giving me a 404.
What can I add to my httpd.conf to prevent this? Here''s a snip from my
httpd.conf relating to the domain:
