Wine and video4linux2 supported webcams
Hi everyone! I'm trying to get clarification about v4l/v4l2 support in Wine. As there is no definite answer anywhere in web. I'm using Logitech webcam which is fully supported by v4l2. However, when I'm trying to use it with simple cam capture program in wine, I can see only that device is there, but I can't do anything else with it. I also did a little digging and so have found

Webcam Support
Hello, I am writing a program for windows that makes use of the webcam, and was hoping to easily port this program to Linux using winelib. Does wine support devices such as webcams? I have no previous experience of programming in Linux, so maybe this is throwing myself off the deep-end, but my friend says that just linking to winelib and hitting the ?make? button should ALMOST work in most cases

Typo on "AdditionalResources/HardwareList" page
Dear all, Under "Where to turn first" section, inside the paragraph just after the bullet points, the string "read, write Default" has been mistakenly inserted. The sentence: ... complete systems that are certifieread, write Defaultd for running under RHEL ... should read: ... complete systems that are certified for running under RHEL ... Regards, Timothy Lee

RTL8111/8168B always 100mbps
Dear All, I have an onboard Realtek RTL8111/8168B NIC. from lspci -vv : 02:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168B PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet controller (rev 02) It is detected, but why the speed is always 100Mbps, already change cable but still no luck. I use ethtool and from the output it seems that system know that this NIC support gigabit speed : ???????

CentOS 6.6: Webcam problem
Last month we discussed the problems with webcams in CentOS 6 and I raised Bugzilla #1158988 with Red Hat. This bug has now been declared a duplicate of 1145805. Unfortunately I'm unable to access that report so although I know Red Hat are looking into the matter I don't know what they're doing. Ron

Logitech Brio 4K Ultra HD Webcam - 960-001105
Everyone, I was hoping to be able to plug the Logitech Brio in and have it work, but it did not. I can have it connect to a Windows 10 laptop and have it function, so I know the camera works. ? The Centos 7.4 is recognizing it when I plug in the usb 3.0 cable. The results of dmesg demonstrated : [ 4519.922257] input: Logitech BRIO as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:04.0/0000:03:00.0/usb9/9-4/9-

Recommendations for a webcam
hi, I am looking for recommendations for a webcam that works out of the box( or something that does not need major work getting going ) on CentOS-5. But I also need it to do : Better than 640x480, have the ability to work in low light and stream via vlc. I have a Philips SPC 900nc which looks good on paper, and just works, but its unable to really do better than 320x240 and its low light
