c2d4u: apt sees new package version as a downgrade
Hello, I noticed a strange thing when attempting to upgrade a specific package (lavaan) from c2d4u and wondered if someone could confirm the problem. In short, apt seems to think that an older version from the "universe" repo is higher than the newer version from c2d4u. When I do apt-cache showpkg r-cran-lavaan I get the output at the bottom of this email. Then, I tried to force

Issues with Ubuntu 22.04 and Installing the Latest Version of R (R 4.4.1) to Docker Image
Lauren, here?s my Dockerfile I use to build r-base from the repos, it builds on both Arm64 (Mac with Apple M2 chip) and Amd64 (AWS m5.4xlarge instance running Ubuntu 24.04). I rebuilt the docker image this morning and it builds fine with R 4.4.1 The last RUN is for installing a bit of custom configuration as well as the base of Bio Conductor. Hope this helps (I also have a Dockerfile for

You're right about the univariate numeric operators. My bad. However, I was expecting !x to return a time series, just like the binary logical operators do. For example: > b <-

problem building dendrograms to use with heatmap()
Hi, I'm trying to build dendrograms to pass to heatmap(). The dendrograms I build plot properly, but when I pass them to heatmap() I get the error message "row dendrogram ordering gave index of wrong length" (see output log below). I looked in the code of heatmap() and saw that the error was due to a NULL return value from order.dendrogram(), which in turn got a NULL return value

ncdf4: Why are NAs converted to _FillValue when saving?
Dear all I'm a newbie regarding netcdf data. Today I realized that I maybe do not understand some basics of the netcdf. I want to create a *.nc file containing three variables for Switzerland. All data outside of the country are NAs. The third variable is calculated from the first two variables. Basically there is no problem to do that. I copy the file with the data of the first variable,
