7.0-stable: a hung process - scheduler bug?
Hello! I was trying to build OpenOffice using all of my 4 CPUs. To be able to do other work on the machine comfortably, I ran the build under nice, and assigned real-time priority to the two Xorg processes. The build started at about 23:10 last night, and hung at 23:46. The procstat output for the make's process group is: PID PPID PGID SID TSID THR LOGIN WCHAN EMUL

plot.logistic.fit.fnc
Hello, I can not get the function plot.logistic.fit.fnc() working....it returns "Error: could not find function "plot.logistic.fit.fnc"". Do I need to upload as specific package first? I am trying to check the fit of a mixed logistic model. Also, any advice for checking the assumption of independence in a mixed logistic model? Many thanks in advance, Sarah Foster

youtube.com complains about old version on 64 bit ubuntu gutsy
I read on lwn.net that swfdec has support for watching youtube.com videos. Good work! I have not been able to get the Adobe 32-bit mozilla plugin working under 64-bit gutsy so I figured I'd give swfdec a go. A quick search of the archives and bugzilla turns up nothing obviously similar to my problem. Viewing this page: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82Opqy5mFZM&feature=related I

installing Rgraphviz
Hi, I attempted to install Rgraphviz but ran into a problem. It requires graphviz 2.20.3. I have this and installed it but the Windows 7 system path variable has to be modified to include the path to the graphviz bin file. How do I do this on Windows 7? It's been a long time since I had to change the path variable. Thanks, Walt ________________________ Walter R. Paczkowski, Ph.D.

Anyone successfully install Rgraphviz on windows with R 2.13?
I have been trying to get Rgraphviz to work (I know it is from Bioconductor) unsuccessfully. Since I have no experience with Bioconductor I thought I would ask here if anyone has advice. I have installed Graphviz 2.20.3 as is recommended on the Bioconductor site but basically R cannot seem to find the needed dll files. So, even though I have added the appropriate directories to the system path R

rsync 3.0.2 with --fileflags on FreeBSD: cannot rsync hardlinked immutable files
Hi *, it seems rsync with --fileflags isn't able to work on (already) hardlinked and immutable ("schg") files on FreeBSD. The following scripts will create a simple example for this behaviour: -------------------------------------------------------------- #! /bin/sh # # set -x DIR="/var/tmp/rsync_$(date +%s)/" mkdir "${DIR}/" # Preparing dir_A mkdir

You are right and the problem is solved. Re: about the possible errors in Rgraphviz Package
Hi Gabor, I just used your R code below and the code worked properly without any error messages. Attached is the output graph, which may be the one you expected. library("Rgraphviz") set.seed(123) V <- letters[1:10] M <- 1:4 g1 <- randomGraph(V, M, 0.2) g1 plot(g1) Thanks. Installing a gnome-desktop on CENTOS-6.3 following minimal system install.
I am still trying without much success to get a desktop on my minimal + virtualization install of a CentOS-6.3 kvm host. When I run startx I get a desktop but other than the icons for computer, home and trash there is nothing displayed. After restart, user's gnome autostart seems broken
Hello there, CentOS6.7 64-bit up-to-date running on my laptop.. This night I had to restart (did it properly). Since then, my ~/.config/autostart/ contains some new broken .desktop files and /var/log/messages complains: gnome-session[7280]: WARNING: Could not parse desktop file /home/wwp/.config/autostart/gnome-keyring-daemon.desktop: Key file does not have key 'Name'

gnome-keyring auto locking
Hey all, I am preparing some workstations with C8/GNOME here and wonder if there is a smart way to automatically lock the keyring after some defined time (e.g 1800 seconds). The net suggests killing the gnome-keyring-daemon process - not the smartest way. I can manually lock the keyring with seahorse but this way doesn't scale very well :-) Any hints? Leon
