libR.so error to install R-3.5.0 in Ubuntu 18.04
Thanks Dirk!
I wrongly thought the R-3.5.0 Binary was NOT default R for Ubuntu 18.04 as
some of my R packages requires updated R version.
Anyway, with your suggestion all went well like charm. Thank you very much!
Back to the problem, actually I saw different versions of libicu* such as:

Build R static
Hi, I am having trouble building R static on Solaris 5.10. I have a requirement to run R within a specific user account on Solaris 5.10 and I do not have access to compilers and or shared libraries on the target machine. I thought I could build R static ( I've build it locally on Solaris with shared libraries) and just ftp the build to the target Solaris box. Can any help with what

Trouble compiling igraph. . .
Been and R-user for about 5 years now in an industrial setting, and
always find the mailing list most helpful. I have run into problem
compiling igraph on R. I have contacted the maintainer of igraph, and
he has determined that it is not an igraph problem.
System is FreeBSD 7.2, R-2.10.1 [also have a sandbox machine running
FreeBSD 7.3, R-2.11]. Both machines fail the installation of igraph.

Foreach %dopar% operator incorrectly load balancing
Dear R-SIG-Debian,
I am using R version 3.1.2 with rstudio-server 0.98.113 on debian build
3.2.0-4-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.2.68-1+deb7u1 x86_64 GNU/Linux.
I often use the %dopar% operator in from the foreach package to run code in
parallel. However, the only other use on the box seemingly installed a few
items and suddenly %dopar% will use far more than the number of cores I am
specifying and

Build R with MKL and ICC
After a few days of reading and headache, I finally gave a try at
building R from source with Intel MKL and ICC. Documentation and posts
on this topic are rather incomplete, sometime fantasist et do not give
much explanations about configure options.
As I am not sure if mine is correct, I would appreciate some advices and hints.

I say it works perfectly when using the single dynamic library

Irreproducible exception in R extension
Dear R-Users,
I am having some trouble running an R extension on our cluster (linux). I call C++ code in which I use a) the Scythe Statistical Library and b) OpenMP. Most of the jobs run without a problem, but some arbitrary jobs throw an exception of the kind printed below while running in a parallel loop. The behavior is to me not reproducible, although at every run of 729 Jobs it at least

Rpy2 and Mac OS X 10.8.3
I am having a strange problem. I have been using python + rpy2 on my Mac
for quite sometime now. I recently upgraded to OS X 10.8 from 10.6 and
that's when the problem began.
Now, when I try to load some R packages (like zoo) using robjects.r, python
crashes with seg fault 11. Here's an example below:

Optimize R: some confusion with Lapack and OpenBlas/openBlas openmp packages.
I run Fedora 22 R package. It is build with --with-lapack \
--with-blas \ --enable-R-shlib \.
As the machine will act as a server with lots of R data computing, I
try to optimize my R package.
At first, I installed parallel_studio_xe_2016 with a free one year
licence. Then, I build a package for R with Intel MKL and compiler.
This took me lots of time as it was my first .rmp build. I finally
