Ancient SMB client issues
Actually, I made it work by adding the ?min server protocol = NT1? on the virtual dedicated server. So I guess that this will solve our dilemma (unless I missed something).
In any case, one of the robots now have access to the new server. Will try the second one as soon as I get a chance (they are busy bending steel ;:) )

Windows 7 logon problems
I have a client with 10+ Windows 10/32-bit clients and 3 Windows 7/32-bit.
I converted them today to Samba 4.12, and after some fixes, I now have
working shares and roaming profiles for the Win 10 clients. However, the
Win7 clients dont get the shares mapped at logon properly (at all). I tried
to run the netlogon script manually from
Windows/Sysvol/sysvol/<domain>/scripts after mounting the

I wrote a message a couple of days ago asking about Samba and SMB protocol

successfully. I now have another question concerning the same systems (the
robots and the new Samba server, HP-SRV03).

NT1 protocol question
Hi
Some may remember that I asked about configuring a Samba server for the
legacy NT1 protocol due to a couple of old industrial systems that do not
support SMB2/3.
I noticed this today from the Samba server, probably doesnt mean anything
but I still would like to ask the group. The server is of course joined to
a domain and operates as it should.

Using CentOS 4.4 on very old Dell Inspiron 3500 laptop; would like suggestions regarding using KDE/GNOME in low RAM and low disk situation
Hi;
I'm new to the CentOS list and I only have experience with CentOS 4.3/4.4
on desktops. I just installed CentOS 4.4 on a very old Dell Inspiron 3500
laptop. I choose the desktop option and then deleted the kde and gnome
packages because I have only 192mb RAM and 4gb disk (total). I'd like
suggestions on how to maximize the effective usage of the laptop with CentOS
4.4...as a

how to count the network flow of samba in linux server
Hi,everyone
I have a storage server to provide samba service.
Now I want to count total network flow which through samba .
I tried ipac-ng which use iptables to count.But the port in the server is ranged when a client connect to it.
so I first need to get the port and then add iptables rule in real time when a new client connect the server.
if so,the iptables rules become much,and when a packet

I looked at http://guides.rubyonrails.org/debugging_rails_applications.html

I ran into a problem during installation of the gem.

Config error detected
Hi all
I have setup a Samba server for a client, and most things work fine
(except a strange problem with some clients and SMB1). However, when I
created the virtual server before migrating it to the client, I
obviously forgot to change a parameter.

exist at the destination but which have been removed/renamed on the

cvs bulid breaks on slackware
cvs code from this morning (about 9am PST) breaks on slackware 7.1 w/ gcc
2.95.2.1 with an undefined reference to session_setup_sia in session.o.
this seems to be the culprit here:
#ifdef HAVE_OSF_SIA
#else /* HAVE_OSF_SIA */
session_setup_sia(pw->pw_name, ttyname);
since i have no idea what that's trying to accomplish (and seems to be a bit
backwards to me from looking
