Hi Everyone- I am trying to setup lighttpd on a CentOS 4.2 box after having problems with getting it to work on Apache. I am hoping some fresh eyes can see any errors below. The log files are useless as they just say server stop and server start. When I create an app in rails I can see the rails welcome screen, but everything else comes up 404. Here is my lighttpd config pointing to

URL root/serving more than one app per subdomain
Hey folks, I have the following situation: I have a secure server, and I''d like to run multiple Rails apps without dealing with setting up multiple secure servers, with their fixed IPs, etc. So, I want to do https:// secure.domain.com/app1/ and https://secure.domain.com/app2/ etc. In lighttpd this is possible using a combination of relative_url_root in each app (in

hosting multiple rails apps in one webroot?
It''s actually REALLY easy with lighttpd on linux. Two apps... Myserver.com/code/ => /apps/code/ Myserver.com/test/ +> /apps/test/ Each application needs this in the environment.rb /apps/code/config/environment.rb ActionController::AbstractRequest.relative_url_root = "/code" /apps/test/config/environment.rb ActionController::AbstractRequest.relative_url_root

Hi everybody I am trying to get RoR to work with lighttpd. Nearly there, but I am stuck with a strange phenomenon. If I configure lighttpd to serve pages on say port 2000, I can get at my testapp fine and see the "Welcome aboard" page. However, if I configure lighttpd to use port 80, I get a download prompt from my browser. If I access my URI like

File upload works with webrick, but fails in lighttpd 1.4.11
I''ve been trying to add a basic file upload feature (just based on the Rails Recipes example), but I find that it only works with the webrick server and not my lighttpd 1.4.11 server. I''m running Rails 1.1.2 on OSX. The upload silently fails with both firefox and Safari, even with the useragent hack and with any size of file/image. My lighttpd config is pretty standard as

Lighttpd/rails deployment error
I have been trying to get Lighttpd working.... we have been using webrick, but want to move to a production quality web server. I followed the instructions found here : http://brainspl.at/pages/rails_stack We are developing on windows and deploying to Fedora Linux. We''re using rails 1.0. The build actually happens on the windows box and using ant transfers the code to the Linux box.

I''m trying to run rails on RHED (centos 4) by following this tutorial: http://wiki.rubyonrails.org/rails/pages/RailsOnRHEL and something is gone a bit astray during the install process that is not allowing lighttpd \ apache to run rails on the web. Since i''m running Centos, I should mention I''m NOT running SELinux. As it is, i''m at a total loss as to why
