Hello,
I'm currently stuck with a QNAP NAS appliance (don't buy this !)
I have a Sernet Samba 4.5 as an AD controller and my QNAP have a Samba 4.0.25
(latest update)
All i want is to join the QNAP to the AD, the QNAP will act as the file
server.
The join in the official way is okay but the uid / gid mapping is f*cked.
I tried almost everything, change the idmap,

AD Computer Account Becoming Disabled on Re-Join
Dear All,
Environment is:
- Squid proxy on linux
- Samba (have tried 3.2.8 and 3.4.3) as a domain client (ADS)
- Heimdal Kerberos
- Active Directory on multiple local Windows Server 2003 domain controllers
(single domain)
Squid is joining the AD domain with ADS via Samba in order to authenticate
users with NTLM etc and perform LDAP queries.
As part of the Squid configuration, on startup the

Hello! This is my first email to the Samba mailing list :)
We have been having an issue on our servers where the winbind service
begins to utilize 100%~ CPU and logs the following error:
*winbindd: Exceeding 200 client connections, no idle connection found*
We have been running Samba *3.6.3-0.52.5*, however when originally
investigating the problem, it was found that *3.6.3-0.58.1* included a

winbind terminates after machine password change and needs domain rejoin
Hello,
Samba 4.4.7 AD member on Linux SLES 12 here ...
We've been running flawlessly for weeks with version 4.4.5 until we updated to 4.4.6 and experienced this bug: https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12369
So we updated to 4.4.7 in which this issue was fixed with an interim downgrade to version 4.4.5 until 4.4.7 was available.
Now, we're experiencing another issue and it seems

samba start issues after classic upgrade
Hello,
Just completed a classic upgrade on a new server. NT4 style PDC was
running 4.6.5, new server running 4.13.0 (Debian Buster compiled from
source)
Classic Upgrade process seemed to go fine with one caveat, not sure if
it means anything - the wiki shows the upgrade process ending with:

computer name from LDAP and re-join the domain, that was successfully
joined and the entry reappears in LDAP, but it times out when trying to

Samba 4.6.2 member server errors
Hai,
You googled with the wrong words i think.
1 search, 6 words. 4e link and 5e link, for explanation and solution. ;-)
Based on your question, what i experianced and what i found with google.
https://support.oneidentity.com/authentication-services/kb/92515
Dont look at the product here, but its an exact match on the error code.
They say, source of the problem is AD out of sync.
