Grouping controllers
I''m grouping controllers to avoid cluttering the top-level namespace. First, I used script/generate Admin::Customers new edit show list and then I used script/generate Admin::Providers new edit show list. The generator created the subfolders correctly: I have an admin folder and inside there''s customer_controller.rb and provider_controller.rb. I have the same structure in

Dear R users, I am having a problem performing the mantel test (both with functions mantel {vegan} and mantel.test {ape}) due to I believe the presence of NAs on my distance matrices, which look like e.g.: NA 1 2 1 2 3 NA 4 5 6 and 1 1 2 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 Would any of you have a solution for that? Thank you for much for your help! Marcia Rocha -- View this message in

Start preferred RGui
Dear R users, I have been having a problem since I installed the new versions of TinnR and R on my computer (1.19.4.7 and 2.6.0 respectively). I used to open R by the command "start preferred RGUI", on the "R" tab of TinnR's menu. But now, since I updated both softwares (which was necessary for some compatibility issue with Windows Vista), the path for my preferred RGui (

I have written a function returning a plot and I would like that the main title of this plot shows actually the name of the dataset I have used. So, for instance: if my dataset is called Chl, I would like that my plot to be entitled : "Raw periodogram of Chl". I know the function "paste". I suppose I would be

feature request: create remote directory
I have a program that copies pictures to a web server using rsync. Typically it will do something like copy IMG_1234.JPG to server:/www/docroot/YEAR/MONTH/DAY, where the appropriate numbers are inserted for YEAR/MONTH/DAY. Currently the only way to do this with rsync is to locally create YEAR/MONTH/DAY and then tell rsync to copy it. I would like a syntax which would tell rsync to create a

simple problems
Hello R users, I have been looking through Help files and Nabble list for the answers for these simple questions, but it seems to be fruitless. 1- in a data frame with two columns, x and y, how do I get the corresponding value of x to, let's say, the minimum value of the y column (min (data$y)) ? 2- how do I solve a simple equation? Considering the equation y= exp(-x)^12, I would like to find

jpeg, dev.off() inside function
Dear all, I am trying to plot and save the plots. I have written a small function for that in which I use the jpeg and dev.off() commands. Strangely, when these commands are inside the function, they are not working anymore. For instance: dataframe<- data.frame (x=c(1:20),y=seq(0,9.5, length=20)) for (i in seq(0,15, length=4)){ setwd ("C:/R") jpeg(filename =

Multiple databases + switching databases
Hello, I have an application that access two different DBMS - Firebird and Postgres. So far, that''s ok. The problem is, depending on the customer logged, a different database (Firebird) must be selected. To make the things clearer: Postgres: 1 database shared by all customers with these tables: - user - vehicle - driver Firebird: several databases with different names and identical

Re: First XEN install: Installing XEN in virtual machine? &Remote GUI for XEN? & etc.
1) No, not necessarily. Many VM systems (Parallels, VMware, even XEN HVMs) emulate Ring 0 access for the operating system running on top of it, so there isn''t any reason for direct hardware access. However, you really should grab some older or cheaper hardware and install Xen directly on the hardware - it will be very, very slow running inside parallels. 2) There really isn''t

How to join a linux machine to a "pure" Active Directory Domain using Samba 3.0alpha21?
Hello. I've now compiled and installed Samba 3.0 alpha 21 on a Red Hat 8.0 box (since I sadly don't have a current Mandrake box available in our network). Now I'm somewhat lost - what do I have to do, to make the Samba server join the Active Directory (which doesn't support NT 4.0 Domains)? Is "net ads join" the only thing I've got to do? Where do I set which AD

The --relative option on remote machine to source machine ???
Hi, I read below lines in rsync v3.0.5 for --relative option. if you used this command: rsync -av /foo/bar/baz.c remote:/tmp/ ... this would create a file named baz.c in /tmp/ on the remote machine. If instead you used rsync -avR /foo/bar/baz.c remote:/tmp/ then a file named /tmp/foo/bar/baz.c would be created on the remote machine, preserving its full path It is also possible to limit the

Problems configuring SAMBA share on remote machine
I'm having problems getting a SAMBA share on a remote (Windows XP) machine to allow me write access to files. I can copy/paste whole files OK from my CentOS 5 box, but can't do any editing of files on the Windows XP machine, which I use as a file server for most of my domestic data (historical reasons for using Windows!). I've tried re-setting permissions to allow write access to the

Deploying from local machine to remote host using capistrano?
Hi, I would like to deploy a RoR application from my local machine to a remote host. Looks like the capistrano assumes that you are using an internet accessible host for the SVN repository and doesn''t checkout files using file:///! Did I miss some configuration? How do other people handle their application deployment from your local machine? Thanks for your feedback. Regards, Hari
