2.6.18 removed from Lenny
Hello,
I saw the Linux 2.6.18 kernel was removed from Lenny. So there is no
dom0 in Lenny anymore.
Maybe it would be an idea to leave the 2.6.18 kernel in Lenny to use
them as dom0. Only the i386 and amd64 ofcause.
Then it would also be possible to add the latest code from xen.org to it.
I saw Linux 2.6.27 already has a 64-bit Xen dom0.
So the code is ready... Maybe not well enough tested.

The debian dom0 64 bits kernel crashes at boot time
Hi,
I just wanted to give a bit of feedback here.
i have tried the Xen amd64 kernel from the kernel team and it just
crashes with a stack dump on my laptop (thinkpad t500, that is a quite
new stuff but will be a common thing very soon I beleive).
Then I have tried the kernel 2.6.27 from the Xen repository that you can
find here:

Cannot call to my server with SIP
Hello,
I cannot call my server over the internet with SIP anymore.
Even when I do a maximum logging on my firewall, I don't see packets
coming from outside. I've tried it from an ekiga.net account and an
sip2sip.info account. What could be wrong? I would expect incoming
traffic on port 5060 UDP...
The account is "paul at vandervlis.nl". This should connect trought DNS to

Xen advice requested
Hello,
For a few months I build a new Xen server, both domU en dom0 are
64-bits. I had some hardware problems, that's the reason the server is
not doing production-work now, but I would like to go in production real
soon.
My problem is that I made this server for a longer term. And I don't see
a 64-bit domU in the 2.6.25 kernel, only a 32-bit domU kernel with PAE
support.
My processor

AMD64 port in Lenny
Hello,
I see a Xen hypervisor package for AMD64 in Lenny and unstable, but no
xen-kernel for AMD64. Is there a linux-image-2.6-xen-amd64 package
planned for Lenny?
With regards,
Paul van der Vlis.

virsh migrate --copy-storage-inc
Hello,
I use libvirt on machines without shared storage. My VM's have all one
qcow2-disk, with the same name as the VM.
When I want to migrate a VM, I check if there is an qcow2 image on the
other host with that name. When that's not the case, I copy the image
using rsync first. If the image excist, I don't do that, and I think
that "--copy-storage-inc" will do it.
But I

Changed mouse-pointer
Hello,
In an application (Scheduele+) the mouse-pointer has changed to a hand.
Now it's really difficult to click on something.
This is at a customer. I have the same application at home, with the
same distribution and wine version, and I don't have this problem.
I have reinstalled wine completely at home and at my customer, and
removed ~/.wine, but the problem has not gone.

Pygrub problem
Hello,
I would like to use the kernel in the domU, so that a user can install
it's own kernel. While starting the domU with pygrub I get the following
error: "Error: Boot loader didn't return any data!"
This is the configfile of the domU:

allowguest=yes, how?
Hello,
I want that people from other servers like ekiga.net can make calls to
my users. When I do an "allowguest=no" then people from other domains
cannot call me. So I think I need "allowguest=yes".
Maybe something like this?

I''m looking for the right distribution to run Xen
Hi,
we''ll start virtualization with Xen in our company and we''re looking for the
right distribution. The most important Servers in DomUs are working with a
MS OS (Win2000/2003/2008). I''ve read something about to accelerate Windows
with paravirtual drivers in some distributions. Other distributions have
specific tools to install and support DomUs. And now I''m

Bug?
Almighty Repo Maintainers,
I believe the current repository version of Xen for Lenny stable may be afflicted with this bug, which prevents domUs from shutting down/rebooting properly.

What say you?

[PATCH] Update new qemu-dm to spawn vncviewer
This patch does 3 things to the new device model, qemu-dm:
1) Add `vncviewer'' as an option to `qemu-dm'' to spawn a `vncviewer'' process.
2) Have the `vncviewer'' config parameter translate to the `vncviewer'' flag to
`qemu-dm''.
3) Add a new config parameter, `vncconnect'', that spawns a `vncviewer''
process that looks for a

Yes, you don't need to use live migration for this even.

new user questions
Greetings;
Trying to follow along with the wiki2 setup instructions and thought I'd
hit a snag with the first "send me a mail" snippet as it took several
minutes to arrive, so I assume that somehow procmail was involved in the
delivery and my procmail runs mail thought a whole bunch of checks before
finally handing it off to a mailfile as /var/mail/gene.
Then the next script

Debian version and xend

I just upgraded my 64-bits dom0 from Etch to Lenny, I am still running
the 2.6.18 Xen kernel by apt-pinning it (see later).
But now xend does not start anymore:

Xen AMD64 and dom0 now official in Lenny?
Hello,
I see the new Xen packages now really in Sid and even in Lenny on
packages.debian.org:

http://packages.debian.org/lenny/xen-linux-system-2.6.26-1-xen-amd64
Does this mean there is now official Xen amb64 and dom0 support in Lenny?
I am running it now for a while without

RE: [PATCH] - make qemu serial summagraphics settings a bitmore fluid
Ben-
I like the idea but I don''t understand how this patch can work:
1) You never put a name into `serial_devices[]'' for the summa port.
The loop in `main'' that initializes the serial devices only calls
`qemu_chr_open'' if there''s a string name in `serial_devices''. How did
you get this to work?
2) Minor point, I don''t see the need
